Re: Warrington

Tough one to take last night. Certainly not what we deserved on the balance of play. For 70 minutes got to give the the players and Gowling credit. They couldn't deal with the press. We won the ball back high up the pitch multiple times. Created a really well.worked goal. Should have had more. Moke ...

Dropped off with a couple of goals, but his assists & creativity stayed the same. How many assists and chances created? Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk 4 assists pre-January & 4 assists post-January. His xG per match also increased post-January, from 0.16 to 0.22. It was 13 G/A he got in 22...

Re: Peterborough V Darlington

First half there was plenty of hope. It genuinely was a good performance, controlled the ball well, pressed high, didn't give Peterborough a sniff of our goal for most of the first half. We were a bit toothless, not taking the shot on early enough, but other than that fairly positive. Then we win a ...

Small car park at the ground. In addition, (based on the Scarborough preview from late last season) they also use the car park at a local school c.5-10 minute walk away, below pasted from the Scarborough preview: 'Parking Dedicated away fan parking at: Fulbridge Academy, Keeton Road, Peterborough, P...

Who would folk want in instead of josh? Not sure I'd trust this board to make another appointment, and I don't think DJ has much understanding of football to be fair. Do an impressive powerpoint presentation and you could have it yourself. How much of his time does DJ spend running Darlington? Sinc...

Re: Tommy Taylor

You say that, but we've allegedly received two offers for Taylor, both from NLN clubs. And if we receive a small fee and replace him with someone of the same standard cheaper so we can use the funds to strengthen elsewhere surely that is good management? Especially when the budget has been poorly s...

Re: Tommy Taylor

Was interesting listening in to the Spenny Scouts sat behind us on Tuesday night. They reckoned our weak area was Griffiths/Salkeld area, and they should be targeting there. Also thought we were wide open through middle when we tried to press with Ngandu first half, but better for change at half ti...

Re: Hypothetical ownership structure

Accrington Stanley chairman Andy Holt's tweets are worth a read from last night. A seemingly benevolent owner who has put significant sums into the club through playing squad and infrastructure development who has now decided he's had enough. Things really can change for clubs under a single owner a...

Re: Tamworth V Darlington

I get the want to go 'back to basics' from a lot of fans, but I fail to see how 4-4-2 is some sort of panacea which instantly solves the fact we concede goals for fun and aren't scoring. Looking at the goals we've conceded against Bishop Stortford, Scarborough, Gloucester and Tamworth, I don't see w...

Re: Jack Hannah

Looks a good signing on paper. Hopefully he can bring some quality on the ball which you need if you're playing 3 at the back and is up to the physicality of the NLN. Does make us look a little over covered in the wide defensive areas of the pitch with Sukar able to cover LCB and LB. Especially if w...

Re: Goal keeper

Interesting signing. He is from Northallerton, and is 6ft 3ins, so hopefully he can command his area. Wonder if Josh has already identified the lack of a dominant keeper as a big factor in our poor defensive record this season. I suspect this is the crux of it. As I've said a gazillion times before...

Re: Goal keeper

Interesting one, I think I would have been looking for a LWB (if JG if going to stick with 3 CBs) and a target man CF as a priority, but interested to see what this lad can come in and offer us. We've historically been fairly lucky with the quality of on loan keepers, so lets hope that continues.

Anyway, not much room for manoeuvre given it’s a cup tie so likely no new players. Taylor Griffiths, Lees, Lawlor, Hedley Rivers, Platt, Hatfield, Salkeld Hazel, Nelson In a 424 to try something different and accommodate 2 strikers. I'd be concerned about our Midfield being overrun in the above set...

Assuming we're in 1 in 1 out territory, I'd be looking to do some wheeling anfndealing around the following: Griffiths out - RWB in I suspect you weren't at the game yesterday. Griffiths was one of our best performers. He put some good tackles in, carried the ball well, found space and did positive...

Re: Darlington V Gloucester

In reality, Rome wasn't built in a day and JG and DR having 1 training session with the lads wasn't going to change too much. It sounds like it was a bit of a nothing game, similar to Bishop Stortford away. Goal we conceded was carbon copy of so many this season. Lose the ball in midfield and someon...

Frustrating, we could have done without a team coming to BM next weekend with a new/caretaker manager bounce to counter act our own.

Got to say I'd still be surprised if Ian Watson was interested. It's surely approaching time when he and Mike Williamson will be offer FL jobs based on what they've achieved at Gatehead. At that point he can either be a FL No.2 or potentially stay and take up the Gateshead managers job. Both seem ra...

Zero in that game. They should have had a pen when they scored. But other than that they didn't threaten. We pinned them back all second half but not the quality infront of goal.to.pick the lock. If that game had finished 0-0 or 1-1 it would have been a fair result.

I honestly can't see Fenton or Ian Watson being options. Both under contract and in Watson's case he's working full time in mens football a league above where we are. Added to that I think Gateshead have an outside chance of a playoff place in the NL. I wouldn't be rushing to move away from that to ...

The right decision. Since the end of last season something has felt a bit off and unfortunately that has carried into this season. More than anything it feels sad it didn't work out for AA. Can't bring myself to watch the PMI. We could have quite easily lost that 2-0 when their lad hit the bar when it seemed easier to score and not sure who was offside for their ruled out goal or when. Darlington 0-3 Workington.

Not the easy draw some people seem to think it is.
Looking at their league record we seem to have been drawn against a side who are as porous at the back as we are. Could be a basketball score if both teams attacks get going.
