Re: Stockport Match Thread
Thommo took his goal well but he's a luxury even at this level. He doesn't track back very often, meaning that there is one less midfielder and that exposes the defence time and again whether it's 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2. I disagree & more importantly so does Martin Gray, quote taken from the Northern Ech...

Re: The home of DFC
Exactly - it would be irresponsible not to post the actual facts, because not doing so will keep the rumour mill going, and that won't do the relationship between the RFC and FC any good... Unlike posting opinions? The new car park was needed by dfc but the surface is obviously not suitable for blu...

Re: The home of DFC
And another thing sorted tonight. Car park for blue badge holders has been moved. I do hope those on twitter pointing fingers in various directions feel adequately stupid. All it took was feedback through the right channels and action. Sorted in a fashion yes, our players have given up their spaces...

Re: Club accounts
The results for the year ended 30 June 2016 are alarming. Also, I was surprised to see that inadequate financial controls were in place as I always got the impression that Martin Jesper ran things in a highly competent manner. Looking at the balance sheet, the 2016 losses of £174,975 have been part...

Re: Club accounts
Yep. To be full time you need minimum gates of 3,000 paying considerably more than the current £12 adult price, I'd estimate. It is noteworthy that the likes of Chester and Halifax never went back full time when they reached the conference national, reality bites - and it's going to be the same for...

Re: Stadium Blueprint with Waterpipe location
Just reading a document from Bournemouth council as well as some other articles online... Seems that the most likely solution would be to move the pipe... It would cost a bit which may explain why for now we have only looked to build around it... Shifting it a few metres would allow us to use most ...

Re: Are Boro to be approached for help with pitch matters?
This post from loan_star in September. With regard to the pitch, Martin Gray wants Gary Ventress to work on it. However there has been disagreements with the current groundsman who doesnt seem to want to take advice from someone who has worked on pitches for premier league teams. I think this is lik...

Re: The home of DFC
It's give and take, if the RC don't want a sign up , then so be it. Fight battles which are worth it. A sign hardly warrants a big kerfuffle . So we 'give' up the sign. Tell us what battles are worth fighting then, and what exactly are the rugby club 'giving up'? Dunno these weren't really battles ...

Doesn't strike me as the type of player that Gray would sign, nor one that would play well with Beck.
Comparing Brodie with Gordon Watson or Marco is laughable imo.

Re: Kids In Tin Shed
I find it defeatist and depressing that we should just accept a culture of violence & abuse towards opposition fans in an unsegregated ground. After initially finding it a bit of a culture shock I've enjoyed the last few seasons of unsegregated grounds and being able to move around. We, the majority...

Re: Kids In Tin Shed
Sad state of affairs if we have to make tin shed home fans only. We should be positioning stewards instead to remove the troublemakers. I have kids exactly the same age and wouldn't take them in the Tin shed but it should be a safe environment. Every area in the ground should be a family environment...

Re: much improved
I don't know what it was like getting out of the car park on Boxing Day as we missed the match due to illness but we found it an absolute farce today and for me it was totally down to the paid stewards. We got into our car at 5 o'clock and joined the queue. We moved forward a little bit at 8 minute...

The Brown incident happened right in front of the Linesman and after the ref talked to him, didn't even speak to Browny. Was about 5m away and their lad clattered into Browny, just came off worse. Happened right in front of me. Brown ran his studs down the lads leg. Now I don't think he meant it bu...

Re: much improved
How many security were there? and why did we have them? And who is paying for them? would be my only questions. Good question, I thought that as I left the ground I think the better question would be how many more volunteer stewards do we need so that we can ditch the security firm. Can't sustain p...

I very much doubt anything will be forthcoming from the club. They always seem to like to keep things close to their chest. That is complete and utter rubbish and you know it. We are in the period of the greatest transparency there has ever been. It frustrates me that I am falling for your bait... ...

Re: Stadium Blueprint with Waterpipe location
Not if you built a small 5k stadium on the land adjacent to the current one That was what we were told was the original plan, however that's clearly been ruled out. You wouldn't need to do that. If we had enough money to build a 5k stadium then we'd knock down the clubhouse and build a 2k stand wit...

AGM needs 21 days notice. Its very late this year but now move to BM happened it should be called ASAP. Can't really ask fans for more money if we haven't seen last year's accounts. The car park income breakdown was posted on official site a while ago. Rugby club keep a large % (50?) but they do hav...

Re: Time to know what the deal is.
I think our fans need to calm down a bit. Minds are racing before the club have even had a chance to rectify teething issues from the opening day. Let the clubs work them through. The terms are no more relevant at this point than they were on Christmas Day. Take a step back, take a deep breath in a...

Re: The Pitch
The pitch on Saturday was terrible, with bobbles everywhere and the grass far too long! Games played needs to be strictly limited to football and rugby 1st teams only. Women's rugby shouldn't be allowed. In fact it shouldn't be allowed full stop as women and rugby shouldn't go together! Hardly very...

Kasper Schmiechael, David Stockdale, Jordan Pickford and the young lad Wooton from Newcastle were all younger than Jameson. Your point is that better goalkeepers than Jameson were better than Jameson - solid. My point is that people are saying Jameson is a young lad who will get better with more ex...

Its not really a charity match but a kick about for some old public school boys.
Exactly the type of thing we must have an agreement not to have chewing up the pitch if we're going to be spending something near £100k on improving the pitch.

Re: The Pitch
Is it ??? It is if we raise the money. At least that was what Richard Cook said at the last fans forum. He already has lined up a matched funding grant for pitch development and talked about launching fund raising early in the new year. Personally I'd subject that to a couple of conditions: Firm ag...

Its easy to forget but it was under 12 months ago that the directors stood up at a forum and said the target would be a 1.5k average after the initial crowd spike on return to Darlo. Given we're averaging 1719 now for the season we should be in clover for once and hopefully surplus earnings will be ...

Standard rugby club prices (sourced from twitter) are £3 a pint and £1.30 for tea / coffee versus £4 & £2 today. If the rugby club try to take us for mugs ultimately it will be counter productive.

I'm in row c nearest tinshed. Can't see anything down right wing towards the shed and into the penalty area. Worse view in first two rows apart from those centrally in stand. Happy to accept it as starting point and because I'm happy to help fund the club to move home but equally as a simple custome...
