Re: Bad Stewarding/Policing, Toon Scum, and no ale !

Yet another England v Scotland fixture which wont happen again cause of those Jocks in Trousers. To be fair though, it was a cracking atmosphere. It does, however, make you appreciate fans of, say, Rochdale or Mansfield who can take significant defeats (and victories) with good grace because they re...

Re: Time for Three

I think I find myself in violent agreement with the promotion on merit argument. Im not saying teams should be seeded back in cause of their grounds. Some years ago you were not to be allowed into the league unless your stadium had a 'potential' capacity of 10000, and were to be prevented from the p...

Re: Time for Three

Hmmm, good points. Mind you I thought the original problem was stadia. What you have to ask yourself is have Luton, Wrexham, Mansfield, York, Darlington (unless we stupidly quit it), Gateshead, Grimsby, Lincoln and Stockport got better grounds than, say Accrington, Macclesfield, Barnet, Wimbledon, C...

Time for Three

Now that there are 14 ex league clubs in the conference and 14 League 2 clubs who have Conference experience (and 6 more in league 1) I think its high time for 3 up and 3 down.

Re: Feethas Article

Another point to consider. If we were to move to a smaller venue at some stage then dont kid yourself it will be a 12000 capacity stadium like Slaford City Reds http://www.reds.co.uk/new-stadium (a Rugby league club near MANU. It will probably be more like Chesters 5300 capacity Deva Stadium http://...

Re: Feethas Article

I didn't mind all the empty red seats at Wembley - perhaps playing at the Arena helped us win.

Its time to get over Feethams and go forward with the Arena.

A good cry and a group hug should do it.

Re: Uncovered's Guide to Wembley

Any ideas where's best to park down there? Would I be better off parking away from Wembley and getting train/tube in or driving as close to and walking? I used to live in Sudbury (NW of Wembley High St) 20 odd years ago. Its reasonable posh residential and you can walk to the Stadium in 20 mins. Tha...

Re: Wembley Song

Of course 'We built that arch up there' with the pointing at the sky could look like a Nazi salute. Impressive all the same. And when I said 'to the tune of 1-0 to the Arsenal' I was forgetting the true origins of the song which is the manly 'Go West' by Village People (and later The Pet Shop Boys)....

Re: Uncovered's Guide to Wembley

Stockport/South Manchester area car sharing. Im now regretting not taking the phone numbers of the several fans who live within a few miles of me. I live in Cheadle Hulme, near Stockport so bump into them at Macc, Alti, County, Mossley etc. If anyone lives nearby and wants to split the cost of drivi...

Re: More Than Just A Game

Brilliant story - as good as that the time you missed the only goal when your son needed a wee. I have 2 girls about the same age and not interested in football, and was stuck in the North West listening on the interweb, and am now regretting not taking the phone numbers of the 4 Darlo fans who live...

Re: Our following next week

I think they will get a bigger crowd than us - cause of us, and maybe some NewU and Sunland fans.
Oh, and cause Wembley will be decided.

Remember Rochdale though.
Even when we take the lead, nothing is in the bag.
Prepare for penalties.

Yeh - 500 fans in an 11000 capacity stadium.
Have you ever heard of anything so stupid.
At least we 10% fill our stadium, not 5%.
That should tell-em.

Re: Last-ditch bid to take the Quakers back home

I think we should stay where we are. I loved Feethams but I also remember how I would be there on a Saturday with 2000 fans then not be able to get a ticket for a Man City or Leeds game in midweek. I also remember loosing 8 matches to waterlogged pitches in one season. And damn near going bust a few...

Re: So what can we, the fans do ?

Its a recession. Make it £10 and I reckon you will double the people turning up. With the team doing well that will double again around Easter. And then there will be that mystery 15000 who appear from nowhere if we get to Wembley. I live miles away so only get to away games in the North West (Alti ...

Re: A little bit of progress...

If I were Mark Cooper I would want to stay to win the FA Trophy and maybe the play-offs first.
Also, if I were Mark Cooper I'd see that this speculation is a handy way to leverage a pay-rise/new contract.
I think the real concern should be why a new contract has not been offered.
