If Gray had managed that, just once in his reign, he might have been able to work with the type of budget he wanted and not had to suffer us embarrassing him by rattling our buckets. Too much to ask perhaps.super_les_mcjannet wrote:A manager who can go on a cup run, what are these strange things you write about

Re: Wright staying put
I'd be very surprised if there was any statement on Friday. If Johnson is out of the country on business then I'm not too sure he'll be spending much time negotating wages and budgets with a possible new manager. It may be that we need to interview again and our financial constraints may mean we hav...

No one can deny he produced results on the pitch, but his lack of acknowledgement of anything done by all the volunteers grated with me Depends what questions he was asked during the interview. As you haven't posted it we are completely dependent on your interpretation. Also, who starts a new job a...

Re: Mark Beck
The only reason Beck is still a DFC Player is simple. York are not willing tp pay the full amount of his release clause. There is a considerable gap between that clause cost and YC Valuation. If that gap can be breached then he has the medical to pass. MG arrogance has misled Beck. Will it be the u...

Would John Carver or Nigel Worthington want to be employed on a part-time basis?
Also, John Carver's managerial record is s***, really s***. He should be nowhere near this club.

Re: New manager poll
Some nice names, but if we are asking for CVs rather than approaching managers then I think our shortlist is primarily going to be composed of out of work managers.
Also, I guess it will be a part-time role, so would someone like Ronnie Moore be prepared to work on part-time wages?

Re: Team v Stockport
Do people actually think that playing Cartman alone up front is a sensible option, or is this due to lack of alternatives? Cartman is a player who feeds on scraps and knock downs. He doesn't have great pace or great strength. I can't think of a striker less suited to playing up front on his own.

This is no real surprise. As has been said I thought Gregan & Atkinson were both employees of MGFA so I was a little uncomfortable with the appointment from the outset. Hardy is my choice. Nice guy to boot and plays an attractive style of football if he is tied to a contract at Whitby until end of ...

Hardly an unbiased poll is it? "At all costs" yeah, like who is going to vote for something to happen "regardless of the consequences". Its like saying do you want us to go bust or not. Suprisingly people have gone for the 2nd option here. The concerning thing is, 6% of people have voted for this o...

I don't care if they're volunteers, they'll have dropped a massive bollock and should explain themselves. (IF this is the case of course) Volunteers do their best with the advice they get. The reason why many qualified people like me won't volunteer is attitudes like yours.  Well, they...

Perhaps, being as we are a fan-based club, there should be a referendum for all of the shareholders on all the key decisions . for example how much we would accept in compensation or how much players should be transferred for? True democracy or just a pipe-dream?? That's a pipe dream. We have to tr...

I wonder if Martin Gray wanted someone to take over the day to dy running of the academy because he knew there was a full-time managerial position coming his way?

Why joint managers though? I wonder if it was easier to promote both to manager to stop either of them leaving. Although I wonder if that means they've both had a pay rise up the rank of manager.

Re: I asked it before and was censored
David Johnson certainly has a credible background and experience. However, given that he seems to have attracted no new businesses to invest, no new sponsors, and nobody willing to buy a pitch side hoarding, I've yet to be convinced. It's possible that his plan to bring in new businesses and investo...

I can't be the only one sat here thinking "this isn't how a fucking contract works"? Looks like the fuck up was made when setting up the existing contract... Re: Compensation from Gray breaking contract?
I think we might have blown our chance at compensation when we accepted Gray's resignation on Sunday morning. What you are supposed to do is refuse to accept it, as it is a breach of contract, and wait for the club to offer you more compensation. https://www.lawinsport.com/articles/item/football-man...

Don’t think the Radio Tees lot will be troubling the Pulitzer judges. Talk about an easy ride. They let MG ignore the question of compensation, accepted a pretty pat answer about going after DFC players, and did not push him on the chronology. You can rarely rely on local radio or newspapers to do ...

Re: Compensation from Gray breaking contract?
I do think it's fair and reasonable that if someone is given the security of a five year contract then some form of compensation should be paid if that is broken by either side. There can't be many other managers in the game who had that kind of job security cushion. I'm absolutely certain Gray wou...

Don't think Gray really went over budget he just asked and was allowed to spend when he may have been told no. He actually had an 80k budget cut which we have plugged the gap, however attendances dropping may well see a budget cut required anyhow. May well be the best time to see where we are and r...
