Re: Darlo v Chesterfield 1984-85 on You Tube Check this out

The Tuesday night before at home Blackpool beat us 4 nil. We got beat by Blackpool on the 1st May. We were beaten by Chesterfield on 23rd March and we played Torquay on the 14th May. Bit different today when all games need to be finished by May 4th and we played Torquay on the 14th. I remember the ...

Re: Darlo v Chesterfield 1984-85 on You Tube Check this out

Look at the state of the pitch, that'd never be played in the modern era. Anyone remember the Torquay promotion match from that season? Puddles all over the pitch, torrential rain, the match was a farce. I remember the Torquay match. I was standing at the Polam End as usual, however was soaked to t...

Didn't look like Joe got anywhere near that last goal?[/quote]

He didnt.

I was right behind the goal and it definately was an OG. Asked keeper who it was and he said it was Scroggins who got the last touch.

Yes you can buy on the day and the price is £15.

I have been down to 3 of the last 4 finals (only missing the year we won the trophy) and I always purchased a ticket on the day.

Anybody heading up for it Tommorow? Thinking about going up myself. Yes, I am planning on going along. Probably do the Darlington RA game at 11 then over to Spenny for the 3 O'Clock kick off. I really think that this is the game that turns the advantage over to us. I really fancy Whitley Bay gettin...

Re: spenny/guernsey

Went along after our game. Spenny were worthy winners. Guernsey did not have a shot on target for Dean to save, until late in the game and then that was a weak effort. If Darlo had been in the Vase, going on what I have seen this year at other clubs as well as our own performances, we would be at We...

Re: Peter Barron comments in today's Echo

To be fair, at the meeting when this individual commented on the Echo, there was only a couple of people agreed and applauded, whilst the vast majority groaned and where I was sitting, comments of ' what's he on about?' or 'where has that come from?', could be heard. Lets not get carried away by an ...

Are the round prizes for the cup competitions cumulative, or do you only get paid for the last round you won in? e.g. we get knocked out of the Trophy in the second round proper, do we get £5k (first round proper winners) or £17.1k (prize money for all previous rounds we won in, assuming we start a...

Re: Spennymoor v South Shields Updates

Went along tonight to cheer on Shields. Spenny huffed and puffed their way through this match, with some wayward finishing. Shields keeper had a great game as well as the two centre half's. A better side than Shields may have taken something from tonight's game as they offered very little up front, ...

Durham were worthy winners today.
Also watching the game was Martin, Brian and the lads. Apparently when Martin knew the game was off he arranged a training session at the Soccarena behind Durham City's ground. They then watched West soundly beaten.

Re: From Echo - Shildon game under threat

I reckon Saturday's game against Gusiborough must be a major doubt, as the forecast is continuous rain from now till kick-off. If that happens then our next game on a Saturday will be at the end of March, around 4 months after the previous one. Considering that its not raining in Bishop now and has...

The covers are only big enough for the goal mouths and a little bit more. There is not enough to cover the pitch entirely.

I am planning on going with a mate. Thats the good thing about a 12 o'clock kick off - 2 games in a day.

However I would much prefer Darlo to kick off at the usual 3pm. Any way, for what ever reason we are kicking off early, means I can have a day of football.

This was the case, however the FA have changed the rules and Durham are now allowed to play FA Cup games.
