Re: RS Investment Poll
Darlington RA FC survive with crowds of under 50 , so yes Darlington FC can most certainly survive with crowds of 1,500. What a load of rubbish is that for gods sake, no comparison whatsoever between the 2 clubs. Sent from my XT1032 using Tapatalk You're quite right, the RA actually live within the...

Re: Has everyone gone insane?
Martin stated at the FF that he needed a budget of £400K this season because of extra competition which would have been an increase on last season, nevermind just staying the same.

Re: Netcafé with Raj is this Friday
There's not exactly a long list of alternative investors waiting on the sidelines. Right, and? If we reject Singh then we simply cut our cloth accordingly and the club will end up at the level it ends up at. As long as it doesn't go out of business, that's the important thing. I've no problem with ...

Re: David Hodgson backs Raj Singh's
He was shite in the games I watched and to be fair I wasn't fully serious about Thomas but the point was to highlight that one of the ways we'll make cash is to develop players. Given MG has his academy it's always struck me as odd that he doesn't put more of them in the shop window. I guess they're...

Re: David Hodgson backs Raj Singh's
I see Nathan Thomas is on the verge of a £300K move to Boro. Maybe if our manager had prioritised bringing some younger lads through to sell on and taking the cups seriously we might be able to generate some funds to push us on

Re: The investment
It could also take 3 or 4 years, who knows. The floating fans disappeared after the Nuneaton game but there will always be a few attractive fixtures every season that will pull in bigger crowds and next season against Blyth, Spennymoor, York, Salford, FCUM will do exactly that. We've rarely ever bee...

Re: The investment
Every team has to consolidate and even struggle at some point regardless of investment. That's not to say I don't think we can progress but the way some are going on it's as if once we stop progressing we're doomed.

Re: Local clubs released list
its gona be tough competing against Blyth and Spennymoor next season for players, never thought I would ever say that, at least the extra derby games should hopefully bring a few more bumper crowds in, we need it, we need at the very least 2000 every game next season IMO, doubtful we will get it th...

Re: Potential new investors
The problem is that the playing budget has always been £50K higher than it should have been since day 1. If it had been set correctly and gradually increased there would have been no need to now get it under control with a fairly decent chunk taken off. I'd imagine that when all said and done it'll ...

With probably a different rake to the existing stand so couldn't be positioned next to it. In addition we need to build as far back as possible so as not to waste space - 4 rows doesn't do that...Craig09 wrote:Its a 4 row seating modular and can be extended at anytime

Re: Salford v Darlo match updates
Interesting re Salford's capacity for the playoffs. The Halifax fans have been given 600 tickets (same as us) and been told that the capacity for tonight's game at Moor Lane is around 2,100. I thought for the ground grading deadline a stadium had to have a capacity of 3,000? I realise it will event...

Re: Price of this new seated stand we need
Ok so the 150k the club have been quoted does that include moving that floodlight ??? Has the club actually said it needs moving and that the price is in with that. This is what is confusing me but instead of just saying we need 150k for seating stand it should be broke down into what actually does...

Re: Scotts right. back MG
What I am saying is strictly speaking there isn't really an issue from the club perspective. There is however a problem from the DFCSG as majority shareholder - it cannot vote for something which could detriment its shareholders. Ultimately if the DFCSG cannot fulfil its loan repayments then it goe...

Also depends on who's in the league next year. At Exeter they have a specific working group which forecasts attendances by game and Day/date to inform the budget

Re: Fans forum
What do I need from our directors and Darlington FC: 1) an ambitious and realistic plan of where Darlington FC will be at the end of the 2022 season. 2) the basics upon which we will be budgeting for next season. eg average of 1750 fans + [advertising revenue + DFCSG contribution]*. *I don't requir...

Re: One for the crowd stattos
It's probably worth looking at the games that were played at BM versus HP as we had some of the bigger games at HP - Salford, Fylde, Stockport just off the top of my head. Probably only Halifax and FCUM at BM I think in real terms we're probably another hundred better off at least. As mentioned at t...

Re: Budget for next season
By this stage of the season a club must have a pretty close to finalised playing and general budget for the following season - maybe a few alternatives if promotion/relegation is a possibility. The manager would need to know by now what his scope for maintaining/enhancing/reducing his squad for nex...

Re: Other Alternatives
I think we have a stable future at BM alright, but not the kind of stability you'll like. If we ever got promoted to the FL, we would have three seasons by which we would have to reach a capacity of 5,000 which must include at least 2,000 seats. Where are we going to fit 2000 seats at BM? I know it...

There's plenty of sympathy for us on the Salford forum with comments like this.... "One holds very little sorrow for our friends up in the north east. All clubs have a budget to work with, Darlington 1883's is larger than most. They've chosen to pay sujbstantial wages and purchase players for sums ...
