Re: Wednesday night..
To put the attendance last night into context. Last season we played the following teams in midweek in February and March: Whitby - Att: 940 Matlock - Att: 916 Buxton - Att: 857 Ashton - Att: 961 Ilkeston - Att: 1,021 Last night there was not far of 1,500 in there, against a team bottom of the leagu...

Tonight's Result
Boston Utd 3 Chorley 1.
Good result for us in terms of Chorley, who've now only taken 1 point from the last possible 6, and have conceded 6 goals in those 2 games.
Warning for Saturday as well, going to be a tough game, great result for Boston.

Re: Club accounts
As has been said before, going up is not a top priority, the team we have is not good enough to go up, as proved by 2 wins in the last 11 games. Not me being negative, just realistic. We're not a bad side, but we are lacking in key areas at the moment and it is costing us. It was imperative that we ...

Re: The home of DFC
The lack of signage regarding is playing there is something that I have noticed. If you walked down to Blackwell on a non match day there is literally nothing that makes it apparent that Darlington Football Club now play there. Be nice if we could get some signage which not only names us but obvious...

York City FC
Just been having a look at the league tables, and noticed York are bottom of the league. What a fast decline they seem to be in at the moment. http://www.nonleaguematters.co.uk/divisions/1/ Looking at their fans forum it appears the club is in a mess and a lot of their fans don't see any way out of ...

Re: Stephen Thompson
Few eyebrows raised when we paid money for him when we were in the Northern League, but it has been money well spent in my opinion. When he is on it even at this level he looks a very good player, and has taken each step up in his stride. Same with Galbraith, transfer fee paid for him when we were i...

Re: Constructive views on the Blackwell experience
Firstly, great to be home, great atmosphere and a good performance by the players. 4th in the league, 3 points behind 2nd place. So nice not having to do a 20+mile journey for a 'home' game. As for Blackwell, we all know it's basic, and is currently designed to do what we need it to do for the short...

Re: Marine v Darlington Match Thread
People stating Hunter should be put back at right back is baffling. We have finally signed a right back in Liam Marrs who has been outstanding this season. Probably our most consistant defender and at least a 7/10 each game regardless of how the team play. He is definitely not the main problem we ha...

Re: Salford game at Herritage Park
As said, better to get everything done and finished rather than do a rush job. We're nearly there, another week or so won't hurt. Looking at the fixtures, if we do the unthinkable and actually win a cup game next Sunday against Marine, the First Round proper of the FA Trophy is on the weekend of Sat...

Re: Full time
Remember listening to an interview with Phil Turnbull when he spoke about the transition from Conference North to Conference National when he was with Gateshead. He spoke about the first season they were in that league, and were still part time. He said they were training 2/3 nights a week, and also...

Re: the 500 club
If it wasn't for the 500 club members buying 5 year season tickets and spending large amounts of monies doing so, Blackwell most likely wouldn't be happening.
So I, and most other Darlo fans will be eternally greatful for what they did, and I won't feel like any resentment towards them.

Great way to guarantee your ticket for the homecoming game.
And also for the club to increase it's season ticket holder numbers, and create an extra revenue stream midway through the season.

IF and I say 'IF' the bucket collection amount from tomorrow's game are included in this then I expect we will have the target achieved in the next few days. As for people not donating, season tickets/pay on the day/programmes/50.50 tickets/fans lottery/Blackwell fundraising etc etc, people already ...

Re: Players Transfer Listed
Not surprised about Purewal, on the fringes and needs games to get back to his best, which he is unlikely to get with us. Very surprised at Mitchell, thought he has looked sharp this season and I rate him. Must either be cutting back the player costs or moving people on to bring people in I'm guessi...

The one on the official club website is the best one to use, it is updated almost immediately after every game and also when there are fixture changes etc.

Re: blackwell meadows
The home game against Salford on Saturday 3rd December is the game the club are targeting as the first game back at home.
Suppose it all depends how the contractors are doing. If they are on schedule then that is the game that has been targeted as being the first game back in Darlo.

Re: Stockport tonight
I'd have Liam Marrs in all day long. Looks very accomplished at this level having played at this level previously with Boston. He didn't play in the Alfreton home game and he was missed massively in my opinion. I feel sorry for both our full backs at times when we play 4-3-3 and they are exposed tim...

Re: FA Cup - Lancaster away
Not a bad draw that, could have been a lot worse. Be interesting to see if we take this as seriously as we should. Last few years we have been utterly woeful in the FA Cup and FA Trophy, so hopefully we play our strongest team. We are two wins away from potentially pulling a big Conference club in t...

Re: Antony Sweeney/Gateshead
Gateshead were seriously interested in Galbraith at one point, but for whatever reason, and thankfully for us, it didn't come off. I'd imagine playing football part time and working full time will see you earn very good money combined, and having the job gives you a lot more stability. Went to a tal...

I've parked in Tesco car park for pretty much every game we have played at Heritage Park, and have never once had a ticket.
Few more minutes walk but worth it as it's free and no chance of getting a ticket.

It's not just United though is it? Same could be said for Liverpool, and to be honest, the worst offenders are born and bred Darlo people that pretend to be pseudo Geordies as they support Newcastle and probably go to one or two games a season and watch the rest on their sofa or in Hoskins. The town...

New shirts for this season selling like hot cakes, apparently around 700 have been sold with more to be ordered to meet demand. Outstanding sales, and a great revenue builder for the club. I don't know how many we sold when we were a full time league club, but I can't imagine it was much more than t...

What a great signing, and a statement of intent from the club. Reading on Gatesheads fans forum, reaction on Twitter etc, they can't believe he has dropped down a league. He's only recently been on trial at a league club, so for us to pull off his signing is a real coup. And it has come completely o...
