Re: Salford-Out of their League
I enjoyed the first series but this one feels like they are struggling to fill the time. More concern about the ‘characters’ than the football story, which is understandable as they want to appeal to a wider audience. Perhaps with Neville’s in Spain and Giggs, Scholes and Butt not interested in bein...

Re: Darlington v Chorley Match Thread
First game of the season for me and after the start we had I went with pretty high expectations. I left feeling a bit confused. I think during and immediately post game I felt we got away with it last night and Chorley will be wondering how they didn’t win that or even had it won by half time. First...

Re: Starting XI Vs Altrincham
I write this having seen no pre-season. However when you see the teams being suggested we do look a strong outfit and you can make a case for most of them. As Diva’s said, I think it may take a while till be find our best 11 (if there is one) and hopefully it won’t make for a slow start and cost us ...

Re: EURO 2016
I was enjoying the extended size format to begin with, kicked up a couple of 'shock' results with the little teams battling bravely. However once that first round of games was completed and teams could see where they stood it has hugely increased teams intention of simply not losing and playing for ...

Re: EURO 2016
If their fans misbehave again, then I don't think kicking them out of the tournament is exactly a small slap on the wrist. The small slap on the wrists is the suspended threat. If Russia were to be kicked out of the tournament I would be absolutely amazed. Any expulsion is also subject to an appeal...

Russia get a disqualification that is suspended, plus a 150k Euro fine. The ban will be activated if there is anymore trouble from Russian fans inside grounds at the tournament. I'm not sure what the authorities can do but this is a small slap on the wrists. Where they conjure the figure of 150K fr...

I'd say good news, we need the numbers up front. I'll admit he won me over a little from when he first started out with us. Had some great moments of magic over the past season.
Guess this what he was alluding too on twitter the other night.

Re: Best Quakers performance ever
The 3-0 away to Northampton during Christmas 99 was as dominant a performance as I've seen from any Darlo era. Absolutely blew them (who ended up nabbing promotion from us, and Marco) away - we were totally unplayable that day. Otherwise, current era aside, the 3-1 away to Ebbsfleet in 2011 under s...

Or you get ill-thought out nonsense like this: Forwards again the consensus seems to be that we are blessed up front. I tend to disagree, again all decent forwards but are they really in the bracket of Owen, Shearer, Wright, Fowler, Sheringham, Ferdinand who never brought anything home. If you're g...

Re: Baxter and Curtis
Our best pairing at CB was Brown and Burgess. Our best RB was Hunter. If the new guys want to play then they need to be better. If Marrs is an improvement on Hunter I don't see why we then have to accommodate him at CB? Early in the season we looked more vulnerable than from when Brown was back at t...

Re: EURO 2016
truthfully it really is not an inspiring squad, but you can’t lay the blame with Roy. It simply is just what we have got on offer at the moment. Defensively we look very fragile, to the extent that he is happy to take Dier as cover for the CB spots rather than a specialised CB. Midfield people seem ...

So two wingers and a defender? So I'd assume Purewal plays more of a role as a striker to replace Armstrong/Gaskell if he moves on? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk I’m not surprised by the extra wide men coming in, I think that’s a position we have been limited (in numbers) this season. I have ...

I thought Bradley was his son by birth but Shaun was not? Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk I used to think that but then sure I read that they were both adopted. Re: The Squad for the run in
BCQ's team looks like what I am expecting I think. Resting Mitchell will have been done with a view to slotting him in with Hunter's suspension. Armstrong, Portas, Scott and Burgess the spine of our side playing against their former club. If we do go with 2 up top I'm really not sure who they'll be...

Since Brown's return no doubt we have improved defensively. Hunter and Burgess have both really come on, I think they struggled as a back two as both quite similar in style. However Hunter at RB has been outstanding all season highlighted by the second goal on Thursday, he really does cover the grou...

No Hunter now, so how will MG rearrange the back 4, Mitchell was rested for the Grantham game so he will be fresh, will he just slot him to RB? or switch Brown to RB and bring White into the centre, I would be happy with either move. I expect White to play some part tonight even its on the subs ben...

Suspect with the exception of Turnbull will be a pretty standard team. Jameson, Hunter Brown Burgess Galbraith, Mitchell Scott Portas Thompson Armstrong Cartman. We may see a swap with the forwards as above not sure if there is something not quite right with Gaskall (i.e. carrying a knock) but he co...

Thompson played the full 90 minutes and looked knackered at the end, don't know how he can recover for Tuesday evening.
