Re: Darlo v Blyth Match Thread

Penalty shout for Blyth as Brown appears to foul Hawkins. The referee has a good look but turns it down.

Re: Ian Ward

Any chance of us getting hold of their better players? Might not be a good idea though. Last time we asset stripped a club in financial trouble, we ended up with Clint Marcelle and Steve Harper.

Saracens RUFC play on an artificial pitch. They cost about £400k though!

RB - Rikki Baines
CB - Lewis Hardman
LB - Joe Kendrick

RM - Ross Chisholm
CM - Chris Lumsdon
CM - Neale McDermott
LM - Jeff Smith

RF - Paul Beavers
CF - Paddy Deane
LF - Jefferson Louis

Re: Major signing

Totally agree with Ingleby. Snatching a few of Spenny's top players would be a major coup. We shouldn't lose sight of realistic expectations just because Martin Gray has used the word "major".

The major signing will be a Spenny player. Dodds or Cogdon I reckon.

Re: Reminder to bring tins of food on saturday for Kings Chu

Look guys. You've obviously got strong views about God, Jesus, Christianity etc but don't let that stop you from doing some good for the community. If you don't want to give on Saturday because of the church's involvement then that's perfectly ok but please think about giving to a different food ban...

I attend the church and I'd like to reassure everyone that he only intention of the food store is to help local people in need. Re: will the better players want to join us

Only time will tell but if other clubs experiences (i.e. wimbledon, Chester) are anything to go by then attendances may well exceed this seasons.

I think many many disillusioned fans will return. Even in Evo Stick 1 an even in Shildon (insert alternative here). Let the adventure begin!

Re: Am I missing something?!

Yeah you've missed something. 1883 have bought the football club. It's the same DFC, it's not a Pheonix club. Raj started a new limited company in 2009 when he bought the club and Houghton did exactly the same when he took over. There's a new limited company but it's the same football club.

Re: Good to be back

I'll be back as well after quite a few years away. Thanks to 1883 for all their hard work. They're a breath of fresh air. Let's get back to being a community focused club that the town can be proud of.
