Re: Wearside League
There is also only a very small gap between the Blue Square and the Northern League when it comes to class and most teams in the top half of Northern League Div One could easily survive in the Blue Square but are reluctant to take the step up for finance reasons. (Promotion isnt compulsory). Absolu...

Re: Breaking news - not good so don't get your hopes up
It is more than likely we'd get demoted out of the conference altogether to the Evostik if we arranged a CVA that paid pennies in the pound. And we'd still have to pay football creditors fully and of course the administrators, so we'd need at least half a million pounds - for a worthless, loss maki...

Re: New Club Name
Not being funny but if you call the club 1883 Darlington, It will sound like a very bad defeat every time they read out your away results. Hope you don't need to go down this route but if you do, steer clear of the AFC option which is getting very tedious. So, whoever read the results on Sunday sai...

Darlington Town sounds a bit parochial to me. We need to set our sights a bit higher. Darlington City? Darlington Metropolis? Democratic People's Republic of Darlington? ...Team Lazer Explosion? Re: My passion for football dies with Darlo
I've been viewiing the boards for a number of years now but have never previously felt compelled to post until now. I have always followed and cared deeply about Darlo and have been a season ticket holder for the previous six seasons ( This may not seem like long but i am stilll relatively young co...

Re: My story - SouthLondonDarlo
Sorry. My mistake! At Palace, Dulwich is one ground i have never been to. The old wooden hut which is now Sainsbury's car park i think acted as the tea bar, bar, and supporters club shop(going back to 1980 though) Can't help you there, I'm afraid! Although, last time I was there, a fox did run onto...

I go to Palace now and again, living not so far away from Selhurst myself. Nice club - much friendlier than my nearest league side. Still rather go to Dulwich if they're at home, though. You can watch the match from the bar. I used to drink in the wooden hut outside the ground. I know it's no longe...

Average price in Evo Stik is £8-£10. Better clubs get 200+ at home. Likes if Wakefield and Cammel Laird around 70-100. You can't rely on gate money to fund you. Re: New Club
While certain clubs in the Evostik (and in other leagues down to Step 6) pull the Crawley/ Fleetwood trick of bankrolling the manager, I think one of the things that happened with both AFC Wimbledon and FCUM is that players were willing to play for less money than they'd get at the relatively wealth...

Re: New Club
You see, I'd feel a bit embarrassed if a new club did start in the Wearside or Northern League and started dishing out 8-0s all over the place like AFCW and FCUM did. It wouldn't feel proper - I'd be more invested in a struggle. Which is what I think we'll be looking at...

Hawkeye and Superlidds - I come in a spirit of genuine enquiry and not to cause a scrap. I'm just interested to know why you wouldn't be interested in supporting a new club? Yeah, you've basically got it there. So long as you have a pre-pay balance that matches or exceeds what the equivilent paper travel card would have cost BEFORE you commence travelling (I think this is £7 for a Zone 1+2 off peak now days), the Oyster will cap the amount you spend at this figure, so ...

Could we photoshop pictures of 1990, 1991, and 2011 together - makes it a more general celebration of our (rare) moments of success than a specific reference to the Trophy win.
Either that, or put up the picture of Jamie Chandler and the dog.

Strangely enough, another shout in this thread for Terminator 2 from me. Most people think this is ironic but I love that film and back it all the way as being genuine classic. I don't really have a favourite but it would be out of; Terminator 2, Thin Red Line, Seven Samurai, Star Wars Empire Strik...
