Re: FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round Draw
Hi Quakersam - according to nonleaguematters, there are just 15 teams in our 'zone' - from your list, Alfreton, Boston, Scunthorpe/Brackley, Macclesfield and Worksop are in the next zone south. Which is probably a good thing - some heavy hitters there. Not quite. NLM is showing there were 30 teams ...

FA Cup 3rd Qualifying Round - Scarborough (H) 30th Sept 1PM KO
Lots of draws in the FA Cup 2QR today, however I believe these should be the teams in the Northern section of the draw on Monday lunchtime. Not sure why Brackley were drawn against Scunthorpe but I expect that pairing will remain in our section Alfreton Town Blyth Spartans/Bradford PA (replay at Bra...

Re: Darlington V Workington
Well that second half was a much better watch. There must have been some words said at half time as we came out and played on the front foot and had Workington pushed back time after time. The amount of chances created, it could have easily been 7 or 8 but for their keeper who made some stunning sto...

Re: Darlington V Workington
We are utterly painful to watch. 20 minutes in 1-0 up and coasting, kept Workington pretty much in their own half but absolutely no creativity to break through the lines, Moke happy to pass sideways or backwards, no bravery in going forward. Switch off as usual, more schoolboy defending, as usual an...

Re: Alun has been sacked
There’s a lot of lazy people on this thread who can’t seem to name a manager that hasn’t either worked here before or has Darlington connections. Surprised nobody has mentioned Andy Toman or Kevan Smith yet     Let’s actually do some research and pull some names of managers t...

Totally agree this is very poor. Wonder if DJ's prgramne notes for tonight were written before last Saturday? I assume he contributesa piece foreach home game? As far as I know DJ does yes, I’ve not bought a programme for about 6/7 years now mind. I offered in the summer to write up & publish them ...

Re: Buxton v Darlo
I said that this season risked unfolding exactly like the 17/18 season after seat-gate. However, we have to accept that right now the club has hit it's ceiling and we'll have to get use to it, even if we suffer a relegation or two, the budget we have just doesn't stretch far enough to compete and w...

Yep, this is the main problem for me. I've tried everywhere in the ground and you just can't get a decent view anywhere - except of course up on the balcony where the Darlo aristos frequent. Have you tried the Tinshed? I’ve stood in the same place since we moved there and always got a very good view

No, South Shields have been given an allocation of 770. So that leaves plenty for the Darlo end

Re: Fans Forum 21/07/23
Shoot me down in flames, but would there be any point in the club exploring the possibility of hiring an aeroplane to fly down from Teesside to Standstead when we play Bishop Stortford. I think quite a lot of fans might pay to accompany the players and officials on board. I have no idea how much it...

We have so many “experts ” in this area that I would think there will be a high number of volunteers for this role. It’s almost as if the majority of people want the same back four that conceded 64 goals last season yet shout that very analytical and intellectual “sort the defence out”. It’s absolutely bizarre.

Groves' only active directorships with current companies listed at Companies House are Great Annual Savings and Spennymoor Town. And I don't suppose any other business he may be involved with has ever "entered into transactions of £597k" with the football club in a financial year. The football club...

I notice they have changed their admission prices from £10 to free of charge. I can’t work out if you need to be a member to book tickets though?! As the posts above say, no one in the right mind is going to book in advance for that level of football. Darlington has gone from 2 clubs to 4, do peopl...

Bit of fun for next season, pick your festive fixture pairing. I envisage Blyth picking South Shields, Scarborough may choose Scunthorpe which would leave us with Spennymoor

For a start these are the players contracted for next season. Taylor Lawlor Sukar Hedley Moke Hazel Darloed - please tell me you’re not being serious about Hazel? 18 goal striker and you’re giving him pelters? Get a grip. He needs someone alongside him no doubt but he’s 6th top scorer in the league ...
