Oh, here's mine...
Prem: Chelsea
Champ: Reading
L1: Brentford
L2: Chesterfield
Conf: Wrexham
Just looked on Ladbrokes and a £1 stake on that would pay out £21,600. Got to be worth a dabble.

Haven't watched much of today but I'm actually quite pleased that Australia have put in a proper batting performance at last. Sets it up nicely, hopefully the rain stays away.

Re: 'Seeking Diversity' versus 'Positive Discrimination'
I can never understand why this subject keeps coming up. Football nowadays in this country must be the most racially diverse sport there is. Also, surely the lack of black managers is related to the demographics of the generation they played in. Only a small percentage of players go on to become man...

Re: The "Third in Line" to the throne -
I'm neither pro or anti monarchy myself. Just interested in hearing people's opinions on why they are a good thing. I hear the tourism argument used a lot as an example but I've never seen any reliable figures on how much revenue this brings in and how much it is in context of total GDP. Who knows, ...

Not much out there that I'm excited about at the moment. The World's End looks decent enough, might go and see that. Also looking forward to the upcoming Partridge film.

7/10 for me which I don't think is too bad considering I probably wasn't born when at least half of them were taken.

Bournemouth are owned by mega-rich dudes? When did that happen? I wanted to know that too, the chairman is Edmund Mitchell, does not sound Russkie to me, unless Mitchell is short for mitchellski I should have said co-owned. Bit of info below. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/football-lea...

Yes, he's done a brilliant job. Although they are owned by a Russian billionaire so probably aren't exactly in desperate need of the money nowadays.

I'm sure the 'Toon Army' are delighted that Joe's mate Mick Harford is joining the coaching staff. Not a case of job's for the boys at all, oh no. Oh and he's a Sunderland fan as well. He's turned down the offer. since when did a DOF need an assistant anyway? Wonder which member of the crazy ...

Well despite charging 60 notes, turns out Bournemouth actually still got a full house.
I wonder if they made a decent profit or if it mostly went on paying Real's appearance fee.

Get ready for a few weeks of North Korea style media coverage despite the fact that the general public mostly don't give a toss.

Root had a great innings and took a few important wickets but I would have given MOTM to Bell, his ton dug us out of trouble and won the game.Bogratsteve wrote:135-5 2 wickets for Joe Root, man of match I think for the young lad

I'm going to change my prediction to 5-0.
Think the excitement of the first test was a a one-off and the Aussies really are as bad if not worse then I thought before the series started.

Our batting isn't great but thankfully the Aussie's is woeful.
Seriously, if they can't make a decent score on this pitch, they've got no chance of winning a test.

Re: Hurrah for FIFA!
It seems obvious to me that the plan all along was to hold it in the winter, they just didn't want to announce it when the original decision was made. If it is moved to winter, I can see the top leagues refusing to reschedule, meaning most of the best players don't even go. Or they play it in summer...

What does everyone think for the second test then. I'd expect it to be a lot less exciting this time due to the conditions plus the fact the Lord's pitch usually stands up well.

Not sure if it will sell out but I think Sunderland will be a decent-ish crowd.
Boro won't due to the fact that as mentioned their first team are playing elsewhere and their support is generally shite anyway.
