hey what happens if histon fc go to the wall (hope not) read something in the non league paper.sure they are in one of the leagues just above us.would more places be made available to teams being promoted from the feeder leagues?

No, it never works like that. Not ever. So don't be getting your hopes up about any favours because it's not going to happen. The FA ALWAYS reprieve clubs from relegation rather than promote extra clubs.

And they're 3 leagues above us anyway.

yeah ok maybe so,but what happens with the void left ie the league they have left wont have the amount of teams it was structured to have.

They'll just play a team light for the rest of the season. Then at the end of the season, rather than 3 down and 3 up, it would be 2 down and 3 up.

Which then still leaves the league below the league Histon were in short of one team for the coming season. Surely then they would promote one from below?

Your not grasping this are you?

The next league below would also reprieve a relegated team.

And so on, etc....


The "gap" will cascade down until it reaches the bottom level, or something else crops up, like another team going bust or resigning.
