The Super League is back in the North East for one day!
Gateshead Thunder have just confirmed one of the county's most sort after fixtures as their first warm up game of the season. Hull Kingston Rovers are coming to the North East on Sunday 6th January 2013 to kick their season off against Gateshead Thunder at KINGSTON PARK – HOME OF NEWCASTLE FALCONS!
Hull KR, better known as the Robins, are known in the Super League for their unrivalled support both home and away and after a below par season in 2012, Head Coach Craig Sandercock and his men will want to make a statement in 2013.
Thunder Head coach Kevin Neighbour said:
"This is a great way to start off the season and it gives the lads a run out against some of the country's best players."
Tickets are only £10 for adults and £5 for concessions on the door so we'd love to have a huge crowd from the North East!

Re: Gateshead Thunder Pre Season match vs Hull KR- Rugby Lea
Been a Robin for 60 years and I had a laugh at this. To say we are one of the most sought after fixtures is a bit far fetched.
Yes we do have a large loyal fan base, but in truth I would say we OVER achieved on our return to the top league after being ROBBED of our spot in the first place, and last season was a bit more realistic of where we are at.
Mind you, we will be looking for a top 4 spot this year!!! Maybe another trip to Wembley against the bastards may be a good day out as well!!!
