The FA at it again....This time in Womens football
The FA have relegated Doncaster Belles womens team, for no particular reason.

from BBC website:
"The FA made its decision via an independent panel where clubs were assessed on their financial sustainability, where factors such as management, marketing and the quality of their coaching staff and facilities were considered."
Think thats the main reason right there. All about the dosh

marketing does not mean it is directly "about the dosh". I don't agree with what has happened, but at the same time I can see why.MattClarkesLeftPeg wrote:Think thats the main reason right there. All about the dosh
The FA are trying to improve the exposure and the footprint of the Women's game. That is their goal, don't think they have even denied that. By going with the teams they have chosen (based on their marketing capability etc.) they are hoping to really plug the women's game and generate wider interest.
Over time things will rectify themselves in terms of division and for the good of the women's game in the future, is it a worthwhile sacrifice?

The thing is though, the Doncaster Belles do quite a lot in their communities, which probably isn't the same (not to the same degree) for others.

Probably not but who in, I don't know, Torquay is going to flick on and care what is going on in the local community in Doncaster.
They are more likely to switch on to see Man City v Arsenal...until the women's game gets it's own identity (and a strong one) the interest will be bourne from the men's game.
I have some sympathy with their choices, doesn't by any means make it right though.

The only surprise in this thread is that people appear to be surprised by the FA's actions. We, of all people, should realise by now that FA goes it's own way with total disregard for the fans who are the lifeblood of the game. It isn't the first time and won't be the last.
