European Super Cup

Post by lo36789 » Fri Aug 30, 2013 11:14 am

How many teams have competed in the European Super Cup final in two consecutive years?

I know a team hasn't won the Champions League two years in a row and I assume it is quite rare for a club to win Championss League one year then UEFA Cup the year after.

Porto won the UEFA Cup and then the Champions League under Mourinho a few years back.

Thanks.

Not as rare as I thought it would be. Either way a potential quiz question I will keep in mind for the future.

Ajax as well, but the final of 1972 was not recognised by UEFA.

Also Bayern qualified 3 times in a row, but one of the finals was never played.
