They've got the wrong man... They were supposed to arrest Wes Brown

On a serious note, innocent until proven guilty.

Unfortunately even if he is innocent, he'll still be branded by many.

It happens in rape trials all the time. Victim is un named and the guy being questioned is named before even being charged.

His name should never of been released, for all these on twitter and facebook know the lad may not of done anything, none of them would like it if they were accused of something of the sort, innocent until proven guilty

I don't think any name should ever be mentioned in a rape trial until the accused is actually convicted. Too many peoples lives have been ruined by unfounded accusations.

Sadly, all it takes to make someone guilty these days is an accusation.

If its consensual then its unlawful sex, not rape.

I think the legal term is still statutory rape, even if it's consensual.

Isn't that only if the victim is below a certain age?

I checked online and found this:

http://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-ch ... -rape.html

Quote:
Statutory rape refers to sexual relations involving someone below the "age of consent." People below the age of consent cannot legally consent to having sex. This means that sex with them, by definition, violates the law [...] [and] the act is a crime whether or not force is involved.

So it's if they're below the age of consent apparently.
