Astonishing evidence being published today by one of the survivors -

http://www.theguardian.com/football/201 ... n-fletcher

Quote:
The book, serialised by the Guardian today and tomorrow, reveals there had been at least eight other fires at business premises either owned by, or connected to, Stafford Heginbotham, Bradford’s then-chairman, in the previous 18 years, resulting in huge insurance claims. Fletcher does not make any direct allegations but he does believe Heginbotham’s history with fires, resulting in payouts of around £27m in today’s terms, warranted further investigation. “Could any man really be as unlucky as Heginbotham had been?” he asks.

Original Judge pours cold water on the allegations. The stand which went down was due for demolition anyway, so was not eligible for an insurance payout.

The story is hardly evidence either, by the sounds of it foul play was ruled out early doors due to lack of motive.

I see that a shadow Labour minister has asked for a new investigation, based on the new info. Sadly it won't bring back the sad souls who lost their lives that day. I say leave things alone.

Why? If you had lost a loved one would you not want the truth?

It won't bring back their loved ones and going through a further possible investigation, will only go to open new wounds for the families involved.

Who are you to speak for what the families want?

By your logic, they should have left the Hillsborough investigations alone too. The cover-up would never have come to light.

Wonder if we are having a minute's silence at today's game, I think it would be a nice and appropriate gesture.
