What was the problem with the badge?
The Airdrieonians badge has been deemed to be “an heraldic device” and it is only possible to use such a device if it is contained within the Public Register of Arms maintained by the Clerk to the Lord Lyon. However, it is not possible to include letters in an heraldic device and so the letters AFC across the centre of the Airdrieonians badge mean that it cannot be registered.

Re: What a pathetic way to earn a living.
I know a Clydebank fan who goes to all their games. He was a regular playing for Darlo on playforyourclub as well. The sad thing is that there is no way back into the Scottish League from were they are at the moment.OHDFC wrote:unless the local community happens to be Clydebank, of couseWe believe that football clubs play an important role in their local communities.

That is not entirely true you can apply for the FL in Scotland. It is a pretty closed group but saying there is no way back is akin to saying we can't win the title this season...

Clydebank can't go up from the league they are in. When there is a Highland and Lowland league above them, there is no way that they'll ever be able to make a successful application to join the Scottish League.lo36789 wrote:That is not entirely true you can apply for the FL in Scotland. Re: What a pathetic way to earn a living.
They would have to move from Juniors. But as I say it is not impossible just a case of being good and then making a successful application.
They couldn't go tomorrow but it's not impossible to ever get there!

Well according to my Clydebank supporting friend it was and I'd have thought he'd know the situation better than a Darlo fan.

C33 page 29. I believe the nominations either come from Lowland/Highland league. If a club opts to remain and compete in juniors football then no they are not part of the pyramid. Suspect they would have to start from the very bottom if they moved across.

Re: What a pathetic way to earn a living.
I think the Highland League Champs play-off against the Lowland League Champs for the chance to play the Scottish League 2 bottom team for the League Place...
Given there location, I am guessing teams like Clydebank would come under the Lowland League footprint, and they would have to apply to the East of Scotland or South of Scotland which feed the Lowland League, even then progression to the Lowland League is not guaranteed with the EoSL and SoSL champs having to play off for a Lowland Leaghe spot

Re: What a pathetic way to earn a living.
It's a crying shame when Clydebank can attract crowds that would be the envy of most of the Scottish Division one and two sides.
Re: What a pathetic way to earn a living.
Just remember Pete that SFL League One and Two are part time (and amateur in fact) but with national coverage.
Junior football is regional, not part of the pyramid and actually has a fairly decent following.

Queens Park are the only amateur team in the SPFL. Apart from Queens Park (and Dunfermline) the rest of the teams in SPFL 3and 4 plus Alloa, Dumbarton and Cowdenbeath are semi professional.lo36789 wrote:Just remember Pete that SFL League One and Two are part time (and amateur in fact) but with national coverage
Actually there have been full time teams in League 1 and 2 in the not so distant past - Rangers 2012, Livingston, Queen of the South and as far as I am aware Dunfermline are still Full Time Professional.
Also from what I have heard most junior teams do not want to become part of a pyramid with the senior leagues.
Re: What a pathetic way to earn a living.
Indeed. That was my point. Darlo_Pete is crying at the shame of Clydebank having a good following but not being in SFL1 or 2 - who is to say they want to be. There is plenty of life outside the pyramid in Scotland.
I think Spartans want to that's why they moved across from the Juniors but as you say not all do.

Re: What a pathetic way to earn a living.
But they do want to go back up the leagues, but the structure won't let them.
Re: What a pathetic way to earn a living.
Pete. If they want to they can enter the pyramid structure. Plenty of other sides have done it and as of this year there is automatically a playoff and relegation from and promotion to the SFL.
It is in the SFL handbook I showed you the extract above. If they are in junior football right now nobody can stop them moving across...if they want to.

Pete won't let reality and facts get in the way of a bit of faux outrage which he can mention again and again and again as if people actually care.lo36789 wrote:Pete.
