Someone suggested in another thread I could try watching England (at risk of boredom) because I'm missing seeing Darlo during the close season.
So I did.
And the French hammered us 3-2 even though they were down to 10 men (nine at one point and we still couldn't stick one in).
England are masters at passing the ball round in their own half; how fantastic.
Sideways, backwards, anywhere but forwards.
Can't defend, never could.
4-2 or 5-2 would have been a more realistic score.
Why is it that teams like Iceland give better performances?
One thing's sure; if we qualify for the World Cup which starts a year tomorrow, we will just be there briefly to make up the numbers before we're on the next flight home. The usual teams will show us how it's done.
So embarassing. We're as bad at Internationals as we are at Eurovision.
Perhaps we should have a system where England are represented by non- Premier League players? They might play with some purpose and ambition; they couldn't do worse.
England
Re: England
I didn't watch it but looking at the team tonight and also on Saturday we are missing someone to dictate play in midfield.
Dier and Stones doesn't excite. On Saturday it was Dier and Livermore. Someone like Carrick would improve that midfield infinitely, and dare I say it, Rooney in a deep midfield role would add some dynamism.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: England
I watched some of the game and it was embarrassing, losing a 2-1 lead against 10 men. Going forward we looked good, but defensively we were shambolic. Not good enough I'm afraid.

Re: England
Missed the beginning of the game, great gesture by the French fans.

We never had 2-1 lead Pete. We were losing 2-1 at half time, the sending off give us the chance to make it 2-2 early in the second halfDarlo_Pete wrote:I watched some of the game and it was embarrassing, losing a 2-1 lead against 10 men. Pete knows this. Once again, he's doing it deliberately to see if he gets corrected.AndyPark wrote:We never had 2-1 lead Pete. It's Pete's form of trolling.
