...Spennymoor?
Or are we expecting a return to Harrogate?

Really disappointed that Rob didn't make it Darlo. I thought he was a real talent and different to our other wingers. Guess Martin felt he was a luxury player that we could not afford to have

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
Totally agree, never really got a chance with MG which has me baffled along with many more I would imagine, like you say he brought something different , very quick and put some great crosses in. Mitchell for me has been a big disappointment this season which makes it more baffling to release him, we seem to be too predictable on the wings this season and from a footballing point of view this is a strange decision from MG .Annoying to think that Bell made more appearances than Youhill, staggering TBH.coles wrote:Really disappointed that Rob didn't make it Darlo. Didn't get his opportunity to link up with Cartman like they did at Harrogate, wish him all the best at Spenny lol

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
Like Paul Robinson before him, you have to wonder why Gray signed him when he so obviously was not the type of player he likes.

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
They've also signed Phil Dean ex-Salford...good signings
Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
And they have Neil Austin playing for them.
Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
Phil Dean down one wing and Youhill down the other... I'm glad they're not in our league.

They will be soon.
Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
Excuse my ignorance, but do Shaw Lane Aquaforce have a money man? Their rise through the leagues has been rapid.

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
They have a decent little team by the sounds of it.
Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
Yeh they do. Was speaking to their secretary a few weeks ago. The guy owns 'Aquaforce' thus the name.

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
Sorry to see Rob go never given a proper run in the team but that`s for Martin to decide and he has.
being released from his contract frees up money but also I presume no fee from the team he`s joined

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
Am sure MG will use the free'd up budget to sign a striker. We're a bit short in that dept. Perhaps MG will be trying his new 1-2-7 formation tomorrow.
Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
White next followed by Armstong. Wouldn't surprise me at all.
For you to insult me, I must first value your opinion.
Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
White is a possibility, Wouldn't lose Armstrong, He offers something different up front for us. Both Dowson and Purwal would be ahead of Armstrong if we need to trim the budget.
Harsh for Youhill to go but we also signed Kneeshaw which is what a lot of people wanted from the start of the season, plus Kneeshaw can play RW or ST players who can play multiple positions are always useful if the squad has got to be small.

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
I wouldn't lose Armstrong either but the signs are starting to look a bit ominous. He's clearly still not 100% after his injury but that's to be expected. He needs to play to get back to his best tho. Surprised he's not moved out on loan for a month, it would do him the world of good
Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
I like Armstrong, a lot in fact. But he's not playing. I honestly expect him to leave, as well as Purewal via loan initially. As for Dowson, well he's a Gray player alright but he's injured more than fit these days.
Personally I see Kneeshaw playing ahead of both Dowson and Armstrong, purely because he is a finisher.

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
I think a strike force of Cartman, Kneeshaw, Armstrong, Gaskall gives us a very potent attack. My worry is with Purwal, there are no guarentees he will even play again this season, or if he comes back how long it will take him to get fully fit. Or if he can perform to his previous level.
With Dowson i love his work rate and effort and that certainly makes him a Gray style player, but he isn't the finisher that the first 4 strikers i mentioned are, and we need that quality the higher up the leagues we go.

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
If White was going he'd be gone by now.
I am not convinced that Gaskell has ever been viewed as a long term solution for us. He must cost a fortune in expenses, paying him for home and away games as well as he won't be getting the coach down with the rest.
How Purewal returns will determine what happens with Gaskell. If Purewal returns well Gaskell probably goes. If Purewal returns poorly then Purewal goes and perhaps Gaskell stays.JE93 wrote:I think a strike force of Cartman, Kneeshaw, Armstrong, Gaskall gives us a very potent attack.

Re: Rob Youhill released from contract
Agreed we shouldn't want to lose Armstrong, but as I said on another thread Armstrong isn't going to get fully fit if MG keeps him on the bench like last Saturday! On the other side of the coin perhaps this is part of his rehabilitation programme? I am not sure what the answer is, as you say a loan could be a possibility.divas wrote:I wouldn't lose Armstrong either but the signs are starting to look a bit ominous.
