Lincoln .v. Darlo

Post by RUMPLESTILTSKIN » Sat Sep 05, 2009 4:51 pm

No fight, no ability, no comittment, no further comment.

1 interesting idea - Lincoln's 50/50 draw numbers were paraded around the ground - even though they have a tannoy that can be heard.

Felt sorry fo the 248 who came down to Lincoln.

Did any players do ok or were they all as bad as each other? Wonder if there were any Todd out shouts from the Darlo faithful?

Chandler is exempt.

Knight still can't catch crosses.

No shouts of Todd out but plenty of venom from a minority of the 248 towards Porritt and others.

A game it is best to forget, it's going to be a long season

Was Porritt realy that bad, or is he becoming the scapegoat for poor performances as a whole by the team?

Worst performance I have ever witnessed in 26 years today, and even worse than Dave Booth's team.
Utterly clueless.
Anyone who thinks that with this team we will start stringing a few wins together and climb the table is deluded.

On the plus side today, great talking to the Ozzman.
There were rumours that Eddie Rowles' Beard had disappeared at half time and gone back to the pub. Don't blame him.
Supporters never got on the players' backs today despite the performance, due to our unfortunate mitigating circumstances, and there was an atmosphere of resignation that we have no chance this year, with some good gallows humour thrown in.

I thought I was being generous - he didn't chase back, he was feeble when attempting? to get the ball back, he couldn't beat the full back, he couldn't cross the ball. I honestly thought he was that bad. I think it says it all when Todd takes him off with just 2 mins to go to half time.

So, do you think he will go back to Boro soon then? If he's really not cuting the mustard then what's the point keeping him? Maybe get someone else in from somewhere else, a half decent League 1 player who is on the fringes - and no I don't mean Gregan from Oldham lol!

I bet not many Darlo fans were left in the ground to applaud them.

The vast majority stayed and gave polite applause. A few had gone minutes earlier but only a few, oh and one young gentleman was escorted out near the end by two friendly senior stewards.

It was good to meet up again with Vodka Vic and Grimsby Quaker you two always put a smile to my face-sorry about the Outburst just before HT-Frustration I think or was it the Wentworth's Oatmeal Stout getting the better of me.
Nice also to finally put faces and names to Spyman and Come on Darlo!!

I was asked if I wanted to leave the game at HT but felt it "my duty" to stay to the final whistle even though I thought it was a hopeless cause and BTW the goal that we scored which was ruled out for offside was deffo Offside probably one of the few things the linesman got right during the game-failed on numerous occasions to spot the shirt tugging by there back four.
All in all a very poor performance.
One plus sign for me was the appearance of Josh Gray thought he did enough to earn a start on Friday.
My overriding thoughts of the games I've seen so far is where are the goals going to come from-we lack pace in attack and playing 3 centebacks just ain't going to work!!

Great to see you again Ozzman. Sorry it wasn't under happier circumstances, such as at Boothferry Park all those years ago. looks like we'll have to thumb some new pages of our good beer guides for next season. At least York should be a good day out, as well as cambridge, plus many more. You were bang on with your outburst - me and Vic are with you all the way, so don't worry.
