Have already scored the 350 they need to get the bonus points they need to clinch it for the second season running.
Brilliant.
DC
Started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left.
Re: Durham win County Championship
Not saying they aren't going to win becuase they are but they haven't won it yet.
They need 11 points from the game.

Re: Durham win County Championship
Saw them a couple of weeks ago, Durham only got around 260 runs for the loss of two wickets all day . . . and today they smack the best part of 400 for the loss of 1 wicket against the second best team! Just my luck. It's a great achievement for such a young club. Always remember Mike Gatting saying when Durham were first accepted into the County Championship that it would take at least ten years before they started to compete. And in less than 18 years as a first class county they are now looking at their third major trophy.

Re: Durham win County Championship
I got a free ticket to go to the match today, and with such great weather I went with 2 others, 377 for 1 - what a fantastic achievement with Di Venuto scoring 219 not out - the most I have ever seen scored in one day.
Durham CC have shown what can be done - from small beginnings they will now have won the county championship 2 years running (with 2 games to go), we should take heart that we can from our position go on to far better things - keep the faith people.
PS - tickets are free to all on friday and saturday - tell me the last time in a major sporting championship you ncan watch a team win the top prize for nowt!

Re: Durham win County Championship
Quite simply , Durham are far and away the best team in the championship.
What other bowling attacks have 4 bowlers capable of bowling 90mph plus !
Plus Davies & Thorpe who are a couple of the best swing bowlers around !
Great to see Coetzer get some runs , esp as he's played NYSD league this year. Stoneman is coming along, and will be a good player in the seasons to come.
Mustard is a fine keeper upto the stumps , not to mention his batting !
Bet Somerset are looking at Blackwell and thinking WTF ! He's a totally transformed player , havent heard a bad word about him .
But Geoff Cook is the man who deserves most of the credit ! A real gentleman , well worthy of the sucess.

Re: Durham win County Championship
It's the coat of arms of Durham County Council - nothing to do with County Durham - a former county Palatine administered - and militarily defended - by the "Prince Bishops", or with Darlington either - given that Darlo's now a unitary authority, the administration using those arms doesn't, and never has covered parts of the county south of the Tyne and north of the Tees, and it covers part of the North Riding of Yorkshire.Quakers1883 wrote:Yes thats the Durham CCC crest however my avatar is the shield of County Durham (nothing to do with cricket)grytters wrote:Wrong coat of arms on the avatar, kiddo.Quakers1883 wrote:Durham CCC Pride of the North East
