crowd fiddled?
Yet again a dubious announcement of the crowd figure. 5,800? On wed, the ticket office told me sunderland had sold 3500 and darlo 2000. thats 5500 plus thurs day sales and night sales before game. certainly looked more than that
Re: crowd fiddled?
I thought it looked more, the North Stand was nearly full of Mackems, looked like 5k for them. The South Stand looked bare but I would have thought the crowd was over 7k

Re: crowd fiddled?
They've been doing this for months now. I counted about 4500 in the N stand and there were more than 1300 in the home stands.
It's probably a tax fiddle but it sends out completely the wrong message about interest/level of support etc.

you must have good eyesight and it must have also taken a while - did you manage to see any of the game?wylam_rangers wrote: I counted about 4500 in the N stand .

Re: crowd fiddled?
Each block holds 750.
5 blocks were full = 3750 + about another 750 in other blocks.
Simples.

Re: crowd fiddled?
Cant see how anyone can question the attendance, the south stand was practically empty, the west stand wasnt much better
Re: crowd fiddled?
I just hope there's more Darlo there tomorrow as last night's turnout was shockingly embarassing

Re: crowd fiddled?
To be fair I guessed 6000 before they announced it. The main stand was practically bare, I'd say maybe 500 at most.
It's hard to say though. It's difficult to see how many empty seats were in between the Sunderland fans too. 5800 seemed about right to me.

Re: crowd fiddled?
So sunderlnad almost filled the north stand and had 4,000, that can't be right. Opposite stand must have around the same so say we nearly filled that like they did that is around 8,000, that would leave 17,000 seats in the east and west stand, I don't think so.

I take it that you were not at the match. The South Stand had less than 500 in it.!!connor2k7ovdarlo wrote:So sunderlnad almost filled the north stand and had 4,000, that can't be right. Mackems had about 4500, with about 1300 darlo fans.

Re: crowd fiddled?
if you put the fans that were sat in te sout stand in with us in the west stand it would still be a half empty West Stand, i have a feelingt he home crowd will be bigger tomorrow, saturday game which generally brings in more plus the interest seemed to be greater towards Newcastle than it was Sunderland

but does anybody get what I am saying, if the bigger stands hold just over 4,000 each, what on earth do the smaller stands hold!

Re: crowd fiddled?
I think the East and West stands hold about 3750 (5 blocks of 750) each plus the corners whilst the North and South stands have 7 blocks of 750 (5250)connor2k7ovdarlo wrote:thanksDL5 wrote:crazy foolconnor2k7ovdarlo wrote:I was there, I said 'so say' as in 'if we'.
