Michael Smith Transfer

Post by quakersam » Sun Sep 04, 2011 1:16 pm

Raj explained the details of his transfer in yesterday's programme

: We received official interest from Watford
: Initial £50,000 bid from Charlton, which we felt was a bit low
: Bristol City made an offer of £80,000 but in staged payments, which we declined as we felt we could do better
: Also a £50,000 bid from Notts County
: Watford then asked to take him on loan until Christmas, but we felt that could be detrimental to the lad and hinder his individual progress
: Charlton came in again on Tuesday, eventually settled on an initial fee of £75,000. There are also appearance-related add-ons as well as a sell-on percentage included

Good bit of business. Well done Raj/Mark

Thats the most important part of the deal especially the sell-on percentage.

75k up front for Smith? Hahahahahahahahahahaha! Well done Raj Singh!

And if (by a million to one chance) he does become a valuable transfer in the future, we've got a sell on?

Brilliant.

Happy with that deal, and nice to see Raj being open with the fans again.

It had already been revealed in Gazette that it was £75,000. Interesting to see in the prog that Raj revealed all the details of the deal, and on the very next page it said the fee was 'undisclosed'

He's on bench for them tonight. Charlton Athletic v Preston North End in the Carling Cup.
