That's great news, as this up coming season would have been a real struggle if we'd been docked some points before the season started.

Yes that is correct. Correct on both counts.

Why do you think the league board are meeting to discuss our case? To see how they can get us.

Why is the league spokesman NOT saying "Darlington agreed a CVA so by our own rules we cannot apply a penalty"? Because if there was no meeting to try and stiff us, he WOULD be saying that - it is their rule after all.

They WILL fuck us over, even though they shouldn't.

i dont think they will. For Raj to come out and say what he's said, they must have clearly verbally confirmed something to him, regarding no points. The only sticking point is that they cant officially confirm it until the their process / meetings are complete. So, the one thing wrong here is that Raj probs shouldnt have come out with the statement publicly yet.

BBC are reporting that we the league has approved Raj's takeover and that a point deduction will not happen - with direct quotes from Raj - either he's misunderstood the outcome of the meeting, or the FA have since moved the goalposts.....

League approves Quakers takeover

Darlington chairman-elect Raj Singh moved a step closer to taking over the club after a meeting with the Football League on Thursday.

Singh and his board of directors met with a compliance group and were delighted to have satisfied the League as to their suitability for ownership.

"This represents the biggest step forward for the new ownership to date and is tremendous news," he said.

"It means the League is happy with us taking the club on."

Singh is waiting for the club's administrators to see through a Company Voluntary Agreement that was put forward on June 25 which should bring the club out of administration within the statutory 28 days.

On the playing side, the Quakers have also learned that they will avoid a 10-point deduction after the League officials were satisfied with the business plan proposed.

And Singh admitted the news is a boost to everyone, particularly manager Colin Todd who can now concentrate on preparing his side for the League Two season which starts on Saturday, 9 August.

It's a big monkey off our back, and not getting a points deduction is a major boost for the team," he said.

"Everything is now in place for the club's administrators to complete the administration process within the statutory time period in order for us to press on.

"It's been a busy few months for everyone involved, but it's also been a harrowing time for the club's staff, who've had to weather the storm during a difficult, gloomy five months or so.

"This news comes as we bring two big football matches back to the Arena for the first time since last season, so the mood around the place is already picking up - it's starting to feel like a football club again.

"Colin Todd has breathed new life into the football side of the club and I'm delighted with the way things are going at the moment."
