Whipping Boys

Post by Charlie_Darlo » Wed Nov 16, 2011 10:42 pm

That's what we will become with a team made up kids and those nobody wants. We couldn't score with the forwards we had, so what's it going to be like with kids?

If Singh doesn't pull the plug before the end of the season, get used to another season like 2009/10 because that's the way we are heading (I was ridiculed then for saying we'd have less than 10 points at xmas (the post is still on here somewhere) and was spot on).

I still stand by my assertion that Singh is winding the club down slowly to preserve his own credit rating. The end will come, albeit slowly.

I still can't believe people on here defend the bloke when is he destroying the club before our very eyes.

If we survive we will not be whipping boys.

We'd be mid-table fodder, so in the mean time Charlie. Keep the faith.

Destroying the club my arse, you hysterical know nothing clown.

What exactly do you propose Singh does Charlie? Keep ploughing his money into the bottomless pit that is DFC until he's broke? No-one thinks he's a saint, he obviously thought there was something in it for him, but if he's not going to get anything out of this why would he keep chucking 80k a month at the club until he's personally bankrupt?

He's doing what every single one of us would do if we were left with a s*** football club that no one in the town supports, based on land that cant yield any profit yet is still costing 80k a month - cutting his losses and pulling out before he's fucked.

I was spot on about having less than 10 points at xmas in the relegation season despite being ridiculed (be my guest, search my posts).

I was also spot on about Houghton and will be spot on about this.

I've followed this club for over 30 years.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

We don't really have any choice on that, but the next steps won't be good.

I'm finding the lack of news uneasily reassuring at the moment to be honest.

No news is good news an' all that.

Charlie, we know. You have repeatedly brought this up ever since. Even though us having 10 points that Christmas wasn't even that groundbreaking a claim in the first place. Have you seen the Alan Partridge episode where he repeatedly says "needless to say, I had the last laugh"? That's you, but with less dignity. Please stop being so fucking cringeworthy.

You've made some decent suggestions about what could happen should we one day fold, but the more you keep banging the same drum you're starting to sound like a bit of a crackpot.

It is just in my nature to keep "banging the same drum" as you put it. I just don't think people on here are really seeing what is happening.

Enlighten us Nostrodamus?

What exactly is happening?

So far as I can tell, everyone can see exactly whats happening, its just you seem to enjoy chucking a load of exagerated, unsubstantiated claims into the mix and saying 'told you so' at the end of it.

So please, tell us all what we're not getting or kindly fuck off.

Decent suggestions like we should have more than one Phoenix club?

Not that one. Totally agree that would be idiotic.

We all see what is happening. It's just that most of us are patient enough to want to see how things play out a little further and aren't driven by self interest in wanting to start a new club.

That's because a lot of us value the original Darlington FC and would rather explore every single opportunity to keep that entity going - in whatever form and in whatever state - than give up on it early and have to suffer a lame phoenix club trying to get off the ground with a series of parochial little empire builders desperate to have their say. You are massively overestimating our supporter base if you think that a workable new club can get straight off the ground.

Surely it is no different then?

Charlie, what were your views on George Reynolds when he first took over? The only reason I ask is that if you were right about him as well, you probably would have fucking mentioned it (above) already.

I should have added, until the fortnight is up.

Maybe then we will have a better idea of where we stand, but I'm not holding my breath!

I got it wrong about Reynolds as did most of us, but I believe he had the right intentions at the outset, only for it to go badly wrong. My step dad knew him, so I knew he was a bit of a rogue, but he also did know how to make money even if his methods were somewhat unconventional.
