As a gesture to Barrow FC....

Post by Darlo-and-Back » Sun Jan 08, 2012 9:58 am

Maybe it's the emotion of yesterday!... but how about we invest a few quid from the whip around and have MKDarlo's words printed, framed and sent to Barrow FC for their clubroom?

Somehow seems an appropriate gesture given the way the Barrow fans and club were a big part of yesterday.... and that banner, whatever happens to DFC surely it's created a bond between the two clubs.

That banner was truely moving, it brought a proper lump to my throat. The words behind it meant so much and the fact they went out there way and produced it was truely marvellous. Thank you Barrow for making quite possibly the hardest day in my life that little bit more palatable ;-)

A club is for life, not just for business. Something along them lines if it's not exactly correct ;-)

I can get the wording framed (cheap enough for me to pay!) by my ex's family business

Have had a look at how to do it - maybe the banner quote in bold at the top and at the bottom in bold 'Presented on behalf of the supporters of Darlington FC to our friends at Barrow Football Club for their extended support Saturday 7th January 2012

Possibly look better if top n bottom (or just bottom?) were engraved but that adds to the cost?

After the way Barrow, football club, fans, players, police and stewards treated the Darlo fans yesterday, it appears to be a great gesture.

If you want a contribution (yes more donation), count me in.

Thank you Barrow, for a wonderful experience, on what could be our sadest day.

Good luck for the rest of the season, will be looking out for your result from now on, might come across for the odd match if we go bust, and will wear my Darlo shirt with pride.

Still numb.

if the worst does come to pass and as any phoenix team will be for next season then we will all be kicking our heals come a Saturday afternoon
On this basis we could make the short trip on April 7th when Gateshead host Barrow. the way things are going we can say a thank you to Barrow fans and see some of our ex players playing for Gateshead

Just got back after a rather prolonged journey and checked the wording on my photo... I think the banner said 'Our football clubs are for life... not just for business' brought a bloody great big lump to my throat!!!
