Whatever happens over the next few days, we can be proud of the attempts we've made to save our club. There's no reason why we can't get back up to a decent level if we as fans get behind the club, whatever form it emerges. If it's the current club playing out of Darlington for a while, we will get back to Darlington if we carry on supporting it. If it's a phoenix club we'll get back up the leagues and into our own ground if we carry on turning up. Other clubs have done it, and so can we.
The next few years aren't going to be easy. Playing at a much lower than we're used to, part-time players, quite possibly out of town-I'm sure we'll lose some of our 1500 hardcore. However, we might even pick up a few who are disillusioned at dodgy chairmen and money men arguing over land. There's plenty of obstacles to overcome, and everyone is understandably pissed off right now (especially watching the playoffs at York, as we had every reason to believe it could be us this year!). However, wouldn't it be great to have a small stadium, with atmosphere, back in the town centre, with fan ownership ensuring this never happens again? We can do it if we stick with it.
