Team 12 in SPL

Post by 10_day_manager » Mon Jun 18, 2012 2:09 pm

Interesting way to bring fixtures out. Rangers omitted and team 12 put in as last team

I think they should be forced to be renamed that and am calling Rangers "Team 12" from now on, until the joke wears thin with me.....

Yes, Rangers, Dunfermline or Dundee.
If Rangers stay in the SPL then it is obviously them, if not the SPL/SFA wil have to decide whether Dunfermline stay up (no relegation from the SPL) or if Dundee are promoted as First Division Runners Up.
COME ON DARLO!

I saw something earlier in the season that said that whether Dunfermline or Dundee were the 12th team depended on Rangers when into liquidation.

The changeover Date was May 13th - the end of the season.
Of course things will have changed since I saw that.

And funksoul - who will want Celtic that is viable for them to travel to every weekend, and for the fans to make the trip, who will put up with the pro-terrorist nonsense.

Yes, but "some papers" = The Sun, therefore there's a 99% chance it's absolute bollocks they made up because the sports desk were bored.

Yes does seem unlikely although I wouldnt put it past them to try something like that, even as a publicity stunt.

There was a report in BBC Scotland yesterday that was quoted elsewhere. Apparently Team 12 cant call themselves "The Rangers", or indeed many other combinations of their name, because of a legal ruling, obviously being such a huge Club all potential identities were trademarked, and since they were liquidated they dont own any of them!

Whereas we appear to own a name but the FA wont let us use it
