Open Day - Shirts and Season Tickets

Post by QuakerPete » Fri Jun 22, 2012 7:29 pm

Just to confirm an earlier post, anyone visiting Bishop Auckland's ground tomorrow for the open day (10am to 4pm) will have the opportunity to place an order for the home shirt - prices are £38 for adults and £32 for children.

We've ordered 200 home shirts of various sizes:
Adults - XXL, XL, L, M, S Children - XL, L, M
These should be available at the start of the season

We can also take deposit / payment for season tickets -
STANDING - adults / concessions / children can be paid for tomorrow
SEATING - adults / concessions / children - a deposit of £50 to indicate an expression of interest for a season ticket seat

Think about production costs. Will the suppliers say to us "tell you what, we'll do your shirts at half price seeing as though you're a NL club and you should sell your shirts at half the price of Newcastle etc"? No, no they won't.

To be honest what do you expect them to cost... they are still made of the same stuff as if we were in BSP next season. And we can't afford to buy in bulk (to get bulk discounts) as we could in previous seasons.

fair comment but why do we always get ripped off, surely there are cheaper suppliers out there.

As the old proverb says... Pay peanuts, get Primark!

If we want the same quality we have to pay the same price!

We need revenue, we cant expect to get the merchandise cheaper because we own the club, we need cash and we need it now for us to progress hopefully up the leagues. We will get out of the team what we put into it and that means cash guys so we can give our manager a decent budget to ensure we have a winning team

The difference between this year and previous years is all of the profit is going towards making our club better. It is irrelevant which division we're in, a shirt is a shirt.

You're getting right on my tit end now.

Are you with us or against us? If against, then fuck off.

West Auckland have a rich backer and we don't.

Open Day - Shirts and Season Tickets

Post by HarrytheQuaker » Fri Jun 22, 2012 9:04 pm

Just answering a question. Like I've said before hardly miss a game and season ticket holder for 22 years. Just sick of people banging on about we need to keep bailing us out due to other peoples failings. We all do what we can it just comes to a point where some people say enough is enough of been ripped off. I want success and when we get I will love it but not gonna be easy as people think. Just been realistic. Ps always had time for u Q because you tell it how it is.All have an opinion.

I think £150 is reasonable, it should give a good playing budget and help towards rebuilding the club, and we cant complain about that.

I do understand what your saying, I dont have an unlimited supply of money to keep pumping into the club, far from it. Cant afford a season ticket because I cant pull it out all in one go. However I do understand the reasons behind the pricing and will do what I can afford

It's true that money can't buy success, but it's going to go a hell of a long way for the future of this club.

You're getting to see your team for a lot cheaper than you have in previous years, and I know the standard won't be as good, but if we charge the same as teams in our division we're only going to be able to compete at the same level as them.

We're aiming higher, a lot higher.

And to be fair, three or four teams have spending power well beyond 200 people paying a fiver in - we need every penny just to compete!

In many ways the next division up would be easier.

The only argument is the argument you can't argue against - and that is the figures.
As a long standing fan you are obviously aware of why we need to raise funds plus we want, nay, need to rise up through the pyramid - our fellow Northern Leaguers are not in the same situation as we are.
If we charge £70 for a season ticket we simply won't make the funds we need.

I think 1883 have done a good job in the actual running of the football side of the club, they have chosen well in the manager and have given him a realistic and competitive budget.

Open Day - Shirts and Season Tickets

Post by HarrytheQuaker » Fri Jun 22, 2012 9:17 pm

I will always support darlo what ever league we are in and put money in, but there comes a point for all fans to say enough is enough. I just think shirts are a bit steep in this climate especially when you take kids with you and people have to travel further to see there team play. Look at Andy Park loves darlo but money is tight.

When I saw the kids shirts price I thought it was a little high but to say anything negative about the season ticket price is stupid.
Take £1 per game to pay the ground rent and £2 per game to move the club back to Darlo asap and we will be getting less than some teams in the league.
