Advertising Hoarding For Uncovered
Advertising Hoarding For Uncovered
The DUFF fund has some money left in its account. The idea of this being that I was hoping to hold a bit back for potential purchases we may need to make whilst at Heritage Park on the PA side or certain fundraising capital in the future.
One of the plans for the remainder of the fund is to purchase an advertising hoarding on behalf of all who donated to DUFF. The cost of this will be £400 +vat with Darlington Football Club receiving all of this money (minus production costs ofcourse)
I am going to make the assumption that this is OK with all who invested in DUFF but wanted to keep you informed of what is happening with your money.
Any ideas for design, slogans etc will be greatly appreciated.

I have to admit I do like this suggestion. I feel the whole barrow quote sums up everything that happened this year,dfc1883 wrote:Excellent, I reckon it's got to have on it:

Just a question.... how will the advertising work if we are sharing, do we get half of the ground for Darlo the other for Bish or will our boards be taken off when Bish are at home and vice versa????

Maybe the text fill could be text with everyone's name on who is a forum member or contributed to DUFF. Okay this is a picture but you get the idea.

I like this idea. Be good to thank those, especially supporters of other clubs, who donated.wellindarlo wrote:Maybe the text fill could be text with everyone's name on who is a forum member or contributed to DUFF. Okay this is a picture but you get the idea.

Great news that there's money in the kitty for the advertising board, when dfc1883 mentioned it on the shirt sponsorship thread I thought to myself it would be great to see an advertisement of this site right alongside the pitch.
Give me a shout when you've decided what you want and I'll sort it.

Re: Advertising Hoarding For Uncovered
Is Uncovered a VAT registered business?
If not, are you not just pissing £80 down the drain in VAT?

Re: Advertising Hoarding For Uncovered
Can uncovered give the money to a business that is VAT registered, for some other 'service' and that business buys the advertising board?

I understand that VAT is only charged if the club has opted to tax its perimeter advertising. I'd re-check with the club that they actually have opted to tax - if not, it should be VAT free.uncovered wrote:Not vat registered but we want a board. Any advice?
Re: Advertising Hoarding For Uncovered
This (giving the money to someone else to pay) is called Tax Evasion.
Maybe better just to pay the VAT methinks.

I agree with the use of the Barrow slogan, pretty much sums the way we all feel up nicely.

Maybe the person(s) who produced the brochure is not familiar with VAT rules for perimeter advertising.Jonny_no2 wrote:£400 +VAT according to the brochure.A kick in the Jacobs wrote:I understand that VAT is only charged if the club has opted to tax its perimeter advertising. There will be VAT to pay on making the sign anyway even if the club arent charging tax on the perimeter advertising.A kick in the Jacobs wrote:I understand that VAT is only charged if the club has opted to tax its perimeter advertising. Re: Advertising Hoarding For Uncovered
That's why there is the possibility of option to tax. If the club opts to tax, they'll recover the VAT on the cost of production (but the sponsor, if not a VAT registered business, will suffer a VAT cost).loan_star wrote:There will be VAT to pay on making the sign anyway even if the club arent charging tax on the perimeter advertising.A kick in the Jacobs wrote:I understand that VAT is only charged if the club has opted to tax its perimeter advertising. Alternatively, the club takes the VAT hit on the cost of producing the board if it hasn't opted to tax. I would have thought this would incur the least amount of tax leakage as the cost should be significantly lower than the £400 charge.

I am wanting you to make the sign by the way! Will forward you details when they are ready. Perhaps Robbo can help with the signage in the new market shop that the club is trying to set up? Sure he'll be able to do a good deal for the club.
Re: Advertising Hoarding For Uncovered
Maybe he can charge you a mate's rate with an additional £400 on the bill as a management fee, and at some point Screentech decide to get an advertising board. Not sure what they'd want on it mind....uncovered wrote:I am wanting you to make the sign by the way! Will forward you details when they are ready.
