I think half the managers in the northern league could have done what gray has done with the budget he has had, don't think anyone should get carried away, the next 3 years will prove him as a manager not this northern league season. I'm as happy as anyone that darlo are heading in the right direction.

So, we didn't get the contents of the club shop as part of the deal? Shocking
Re: auction of darlo stuff
That's what puzzles me... I thought we bought Darlington Football Club and all of it's assets?TS3 wrote:So, we didn't get the contents of the club shop as part of the deal? Shocking
Surely the contents of the club shop is the football clubs own assets? I can understand not getting access to catering equipment because that is owned by S&S - but surely the contents of the club shop is the property of Darlington Football Club?
If I was on the board I'd be contacting them sharpish to say that legally they own those items!

Re: auction of darlo stuff
These were owned by DFC 2009 Ltd.
Not the club per se.

Surely the deal was that DFC 1883 had agreed to buy the club's assets and goodwill from administrator Harvey Madden?Fibonacci0112358 wrote:These were owned by DFC 2009 Ltd.

If so, surely that includes the clubs own merchandise? The only thing I believe HM retained was 50% of future transfer fees? Anyway... whose likely to buy a load of Darlington FC branded gear?
Re: auction of darlo stuff
It's a strange one as we went into the Arena and took a load of old kit, plus plenty of other bits and pieces, not sure whether these were missed or what?! The only stuff we shouldn't have been entitled to should have been anything classed as fixtures and fittings of the Arena.

Re: auction of darlo stuff
Would it not be worth purchasing some of the stuff we aren't entitled too such as the catering items for the future i.e. stadium move as I'm guessing it will be cheaper than buying it new?

Depressing to see that we were trying to sell some of this gash. Wonder how many of those Dean Windass DVDs we sold given his illustrious career at Darlo.
Re: auction of darlo stuff
I'm pretty sure DFC 2009 owed Errea some money so it's plausible that the stock was seized before DFC1883 bought the assets.

Reckon they'll sell the sweets and pop separately?

I think they are actually made from one of Susan Reynolds old dresses.Free_Transfer wrote:Fuck a duck homage to Mel B or what???fat tony wrote:I mean for fucks sake...

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: auction of darlo stuff
Surely most of the perishables be near or past their sell by date?
Re: auction of darlo stuff
Instead of selling all that junk seperately; why not package up the leopard print bar stools, bog-standard choice of wine and lager, deep fat fryers, sportswear and disco lights, and sell it as a DIY wedding kit round Hartlepool way?
Re: auction of darlo stuff
hummm interesting that we don't own this stuff - either way, that training kit how much of it is there and would we not get a better price for that than buying new stuff?
Given it wasn't Lakeside branded or anything it was just quite good quality gear could we not look into it?

Most of the stuff isn't from the Arena.

Those patterned seats are not from the arena. If u read the auction description is is a mix of Darlington football club, corner shop and other items.

Don't let the fact people can't read spoil things.
Waiting for Raj to shaft them!
Re: auction of darlo stuff
Out of interest will they be sold in lots? or would you be able to get individual shirts etc?
Re: auction of darlo stuff
Is anyone here going to be bidding on some of that stock/is the club going to bid on it?
I ask because I definately think there is some profit in a lot of that gear/could be of use to the new club (and partly because I wouldn't mind getting my hands on some of it as well) I don't want to be bidding against other darlo fans with similar intentions though otherwise it is counter productive.
EDIT: there is some 'saleability' in some of that stuff...clearly depending on the price it goes for determines whether there will be profit!

I'm sure they'll be sold in lots. Might be worth a look down if anyone from the board is free?shawry wrote:Out of interest will they be sold in lots? or would you be able to get individual shirts etc?
Might get a load of old stock for a couple of quid? Even if we knock them out for a fiver a shirt then it's practically pure profit.

Re: auction of darlo stuff
This is my view too, slightly conscious that there might be 2 or 3 well intentioned fans though and they end up bidding each other up to the detriment of the club...could do with a little bit of communication from the board regarding this for the wider benefit.Hilly wrote:Might be worth a look down if anyone from the board is free?

Re: auction of darlo stuff
I think someone from darlo club should go down and bid for anything worth buying and everyone know not to bid against her/him then we have an auction night and raise money for the club that way.

Re: auction of darlo stuff
Just viewed the stock, dont know where they were hiding it at the Arena as the shop was never well stocked. Quite a range of items. Seemed little interest from those there
