Will you be going to the West Auckland game?
Re: Will you be going to the West Auckland game?
We should all stand outside the ground with a drum and support the lads from there, with kev luff telling us the score via text!!

Absolutely would not dream of going.
Even if they knocked it back to a fiver and provided a half time display of semi-professional hamster tickling.
When is it?

I'm not going inside. Purely on principle. I will however be up for going to stand outside the ground during the game.

I would gladly pay triple for that.therep wrote:and provided a half time display of semi-professional hamster tickling.
Re: Will you be going to the West Auckland game?
I don't get to many away games, but had earmarked that as one to go to.
However, West's decision stinks and I can't bring myself to give them my hard earned cash.

I was thinking about coming up for this one as the train prices were ok. I wont be coming up as it just seems to be a total and utter rip off.

Re: Will you be going to the West Auckland game?
That's a no from me, and it's still no if they drop it to £8. They quoted £5 at the start of the season, no one else has put their prices up to deal with the stewarding costs, they haven't asked us if we could supply additional stewards and, frankly, it's not our fault we're causing stewarding problems, that would be the fault of whoever decided that having a team with gates of 1,480 in a league of gates of 150 was a good idea. The whole thing seems like a transparent excuse to soak even more money out of a bumper gate than they are already.
I don't see why I should support their greed.

104 votes.
Wonder how many of the yes votes are non Darlo supporters taking the P.

Re: Will you be going to the West Auckland game?
Looks like there's land outside their ground where folk could cheer the team on still (plus it could encourage a few more to join them, who may otherwise have went inside), but would that be considered a public nuisance?

Add three more to my vote. My Dad's said no. My mate has said no. And I obviously won't be taking the youngun.
can we charge £16.00 for the return game pay on the day, with tickets on sale for £8.00 inside the ground for the previous few home games. Max purchase per person is two. They'll be no West fans in the ground. Hang on. If we charge our normal amount they'd still be no West fans!

Not sure on this one. We could wait outside distributing fliers asking people not to attend. I don't know what the police could do about people standing outside the ground. We need one of our resident coppers to advise.Christophano wrote:Looks like there's land outside their ground where folk could cheer the team on still (plus it could encourage a few more to join them, who may otherwise have went inside), but would that be considered a public nuisance?

Re: Will you be going to the West Auckland game?
Would I pay £10 to watch West Auckland against Darlington yes I would. Does that mean I will be going, certainly not. Their lack of transparency on this issue is my main gripe. It may have been more palatable if they had (i) consulted more widely on this price increase and/or (ii) detailed the costs they were envisaging. A very poor PR exercise. My instincts are that they have probably also misjudged the mood of the other member clubs. I have no evidence for this but would suspect that it will be the case.

Good point there mate, it looks like it is on a housing, but surely it would not be any more of a nuisance than if we were inside the ground, looks like green field around 2 sides and look quite spacious, but what the old bill would do would remain to be seenChristophano wrote:Looks like there's land outside their ground where folk could cheer the team on still (plus it could encourage a few more to join them, who may otherwise have went inside), but would that be considered a public nuisance?

Don't know why they are making their own supporters bring a TV licence to prove they
have an Auckland postcode and in for £5-00.
Surely when a grubby hand presents the money at the turnstile if it has the regulation
number of digits it'll be one of ours. An extra digit ,one of theirs..

God that "england" bloke on NLZ is nauseating. He tries to act like he's sensible, calm, and objective, but his posts always have a tinge of negativity towards Darlo.
I only mention this because he's defending West's decision to change the ticket prices, but of course throwing in the odd "I can see your point but..." to sound all objective and neutral.

I noticed that smarmy bell straight away during my single five minute visit to no brain zone.
