Darlo V Synners Signed Match Ball - What to do with it Poll

Post by Bogratsteve » Thu Nov 22, 2012 8:52 am

Right Guys,

Had a cracking night out at the match last night courtesy of Darlo and Uncovered, my dad and I thoroughly enjoyed the game from the other side of the fence with meeting the players, a nice bit of tucker and having Tori look after us never mind seeing the game from the high up seats for once and choosing MOM!

I was also presented with a fully signed match ball that appears to have all the teams signatures on the ball, what shall I do with it?

I'm not going to keep it as I've got enough from this prize already and I want someone else to have it and also raise a few quid for the club so I have put a poll up to decide the best course of action as I really do not know which is the best way, suggestions and thoughts as always, all monies raised will go back to the club, again best way of re-investing?

Poll will run for 10 days, please Sticky

Send it to the chimp chokers so they can feel it and experience the aura of it hitting the back of the oppositions net 4 times in one game instead of it ending in theirs.
Waiting for Raj to shaft them!

Stupid question - but is it actually the match ball like Fatty eludes to above? I just thought it was a DFC branded ball which all the players signed?

Just keep hold of it and in ten years time when we have our own ground and our own trophy cabinet you can present it to the club.It will have all the names of the first promotion squad on our climb back to where we belong.

It is a distant relative of the ball used last night lol

It is actually a DFC branded ball signed by the squad not the one used last night, that's in Sainsburys trolley bay.....

You can donate it to the the Chistmas Raffle that the Fund Raising group are doing if you want to.

32" TV is top prize then Hamper and other various generally alchoholic prizes. £1 a book of 5 tickets, all revenue back into the Club.

What a slur!! I managed to return both balls that flew over the fence and into the car park next to me.

I also have a signed match ball that I won in the raffle at the Travellers the other night. I could raffle it at a future fundraising event - but if anyone wants one for Xmas present etc or just to take it off my hands for a good price - I will donate money back to the club. DM me - thanks

Right, been thinking about this a fair bit and I'm going to put it into the Fund raising gig so everybody can buy tickets and it saves all sorts of messing around, thanks for the feedback and get some tickets bought

Not wanting to put a downer on things but I think getting a signed ball from the lads is one of the easier things that the club can put towards a raffle. We got a load of DFC branded footballs so it just means getting the lads to sign a few before a match day.

I think if you were to raffle it on here you'd have a better chance of making more money for the club.

Hilly makes a good point.
It may be worth hanging on to, in a few years a match ball signed by the first championship winning squad of our resurgence (the arrogance!) would be a more enticing deal.

I think you will raise more money on here than at a function where it is competing with other items. Also, I find that, excluding the major prizes, raffle items have little effect on the amount raised as most people will buy the same amount of tickets that they would have anyway.
