No, he was much more positive he said 200 fans if we were in the Evostick. The man knows nothing about football.lo36789 wrote:Was it 100 fans Danny Mills said we would get this year!?

Re: Late Kick Off
I'm surprised at the lack of any reports on TV or radio on how well we have done this season particularly when all North East teams have had a pretty crappy season.

Re: Late Kick Off
The media love bad news. Judged by the Echo comments some fans seem disgruntled by the lack of coverage from BBC Tees.DarloDave40 wrote:I'm surprised at the lack of any reports on TV or radio on how well we have done this season particularly when all North East teams have had a pretty crappy season.

Re: Late Kick Off
Also Craig Hignett doesnt rate us.. He thinks Spendymoor are the shining jewel in this shitty league. Our hard work and success built by MG from nothing is totally bypassed by Tees whenever a NL feature is covered.
I will be so pleased when we are out and into the real world of competative football instead of this backslapping parochial nonsense of a league whose main ambition is for their teams to play at Wembley

Re: Late Kick Off
Aye but Hignett bots Radji Strings so his views are immediately to be discounted as bollocks. Tees can fuck off when we get back to a level they deem coverage is needed.
Craig Liddle is God!!
Re: Late Kick Off
We are lucky if they read out our score these days. No mention of 100+ goals, 100+ goal difference, record runs etc.
You can almost guarantee the first few words on their sports reports are "Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray says...." despite the fact Boro have been shite for half a season and Pools have been shite all season.
Now they get a hard on because they have the chance for a trip to Wembley with Spenny so now they are the golden boys!

Re: Late Kick Off
Surely Spenny fall into the BBC Newc area and not BBC Riverside Stadium. Either way I've been appalled by Tees's coverage. Newc often have a Northern League game live. Tees don't even try. Not even Whitby. But hey they gave up on us when we dropped out of the leavue and had it not been for Ray they wouldn't have even had us on the Internet. Still. You've got to love Ray's commentary of Seniors goal. Priceless

Who else is waiting for Mills to completely contradict himself?

Re: Late Kick Off
Fair play to Mills. He praised us for stinking with the team and not giving up. But it still irks me when there is lazy journalism and implications that we are not a continuation. Because we are. No matter what anyone says.
Re: Late Kick Off
Credit to Mills who admitted he was way off.

He was very complimentary, still a bell-end though.

Didn't think much of the other guy- some photographer apparently.

Re: Late Kick Off
Stuart Clarke of course was the man who took the now immortal photo at Welling!
I seriously urge all of you to visit his gallery in the national football museum. I went when it was in Ambleside and it is nothing short of amazing.

Re: Late Kick Off
Pity they didnt update their stats and say that we need to slip up in order for Spenny to catch us.
Re: Late Kick Off
I thought was a cracking feature so big thanks must go to LKO for that. Showed us in a great light and MG was his professional self. Fair play to Danny Mills for coming out and saying what he did. I thought the feature they did on the photographer was fantastic and quite moving with the photos he captured from the old grounds, really captured some aspects that football has lost over recent times

Re: Late Kick Off
To be fair Danny Mills is as good at being a pundit as he was at playing football.... We'll leave it to the jury to decide

Re: Late Kick Off
Who's the bellend who thought a good first line would be to disregard what has been the focus of the whole clip (promotion) and come out with "Spenny will catch 'em Clem, they've got about 100 games in hand".
Yeah, great insight dickhead.
Despite the fact they were fairly complimentary, they could've gone alot further and still not done us justice. What we have achieved is unreal!

Thought it was an excellent piece and loved seeing the archive footage of our last promotion.

, too dry for me to pick up on if so!
Eitherway, seemed to be a bit patronizing from "Clem", Mills had it right.

Re: Late Kick Off
Well not really. Our official name is Darlington FC. We purchased the name last season along with the history and debt etc. Unfortunately the FA won't allow us to use it because of Singh's petty actions. Hence the use of 1883 in FA affiliated competitions.
