Post by quakerray » Tue Apr 23, 2013 8:47 pm

in final with newcastle benfield, thats 3 finals to play as well as their backlog of games. when would they play this.
they also play benfield on 17th may in league. that wont matter though when we get our 2 wins, even 1 win and a draws enough.

was nice the see penrith get a last minute equaliser with west too

League Cup Final is 11th May. Last game at Belle Vue, Consett. Should we win the league we will be down to play the winners in the JR Cleator Cup at the start of next season

Even if we are, potentially, no longer members of the NL? I have to be honest I have not heard of this cup but it would be good to get some silverware.

Given it is league winner v Cup winner the norm would be that one team one team won't be NL, considering there is always a promotion spot available for the team who finishes top!

But isn't it the norm in this cowboy run league for someone to win it and NOT go up?

Funny thing is it won't be the last ever game at Consett as we still have to play them away in the league!!!

Great venue for a league cup final mind

Was anyone a little surprised they started their best 11?

Maybe they know the league is now gone.

Not at all, they said from the start their aim was to win all the cups. Why come this far and throw it?

Ok, just they not played best 11 in previous round and got a league game tomorrow.

Why? One reason being its a worthless cup with the final at Consett.

Haha not wrong. Maybe they can have another crack at it next year as well then.

PS if the Spenny fans turn up in numbers at Consett, then I was wrong.

But worthless cups and finals at Consett are the stuff of dreams for most in this league!
