A fund set up to help provide an annual funding boost to the club is ready to begin accepting donations after two forum members set up an account with Darlington Credit Union.

After a lengthy discussion on the forums, an account with Darlington Credit Union has been set up to collect monies to provide an annual boost to Darlington Football Club via members of Darlo Uncovered's message board.

If you would like to pay in to the fundraising account, details for your standing order are as follows:

Bank: Co-Operative Bank
Account Name: Darlington Credit Union
Account Number: 67000742
Sort Code: 08-90-42
Reference: 8207

We will try to provide regular updates on the balance and payments being made into the account as often as possible.

Do I get a certificate, my name in the programme, or a vote on what size boots the players wear?

Is there a minimum you can open a standing order for? I am still extremely short of ready funds but want to do something, however small, to hopefully help us stay afloat. I was thinking about £5 a month for this and another £5 a month on the weekly draw. Cheers.

Have set up a standing order now, is there anything else I need to do? Does anyone require my details etc or is this being anonymous?

No your money just pops in the Darlo account. The two lads administering will arrange the payments to the club at certain/regular times I believe.

Thanks, let's hope enough goes in each month to make a difference.
If a similar amount of fans that play the weekly draw donate the same money as for that (£5 a month) then the fund is looking at a figure touching on £13K a year...a considerable sum. Add to that one-off payments, and standing orders over £5 (I think £10 was the suggested amount at one time wasn't it?) and we are in for one hell of a healthy account! With this amount of support from the fans, there is no way that we should be in any sort of financial bother.
One question though, I know Credit Unions are a good tool for those who find access to mainstream banking difficult, i.e. bankruptcy, unemployed etc, but I was under the impression it was to be used for 'small' amounts, or is that a misconception? Will we have to hand over the money on a monthly basis for example or can we keep it to earn a little interest?

At the moment £10k can be held in an account so the account holders will have to decide/consult on what to do if this is reached too soon.

I would think that an injection of £10K into the club at any given time would be a major boost! Somehow things seem to be a little brighter now.

Any progress on getting something released saying how much we have and will be giving the club and when? Just that I have a thing about knowing where my money (which is in very short supply) is going to? Thanks.

Is there ever going to be any information given about this? i.e. how much do we have, have we given any to the club yet?

I'm sure a bit more response and advertising of what has been raised would encourage more donations to follow. Hard to build up a bandwagon effect when the money is just going into a black hole. Nothing massive needed - just a brief outline of the position every couple of weeks or monthly.

I will try and catch one of the signatories tomorrow to suggest that they post the total monthly. Anyone who sets up a S/O or a one off payment would be advised to pm them as payments can go astray in the banking system & post.

Last time i heard it was around £450-500
Lets keep up the good work.

No point in me editing/altering this thread without an explanation.
Last time i heard it was around £450-500 was actually incorrect it was infact £250 ish
The balance now is £350 and there are 6 regular s/o 5x£10 1x£20 each month.
Sorry about the previous figures it was a genuine mistake on my part.
I would also suggest that the future use of this fund is determined by its contributors.

Thanks for your support

Hi as the original poster I have received questions in regards to donations.

Please can we have contact details of those responsible for the management of this fund so they know who to contact with their queries.

I hope this isn't too much to ask.
