http://www.darlington1883.co.uk/?p=4725 as a member of the fundraising group I'm really sorry to see Dave step down, he's been an absolute pleasure to work with and he has my full respect.

Some really big shoes for someone to fill

See you at the games Dave

Can only echo the above. Dave was a fantastic person to have on board and we're going to miss him.

Huge loss, the work Dave did with getting the schools programme up and running was incredible and his links into the schools based on his career in that sector will be sorely missed. Dave fit the profile of the exact type of person we need on the board - life long fan with a great range of skills and knowledge who has retired from his profession.

He also held a great relationship with Martin Gray through his work for the MGFA. With Dave and Colin both leaving the club will be worse off for it.

Interesting that Dave said his resignation had nothing to do with the impending fans elections!!!
And it was 10 days ago!

I agree with everything above, massive shoes to fill. Trophy on tour was a stroke of genius! i agree with Divas just the sort of person we want at the helm, Darlo through and through.

Sorry to see him resign. :(

Hopefully we could see him return in the future?

Sorry to see Dave step down, he is a top man who always made time for people. Deserves a bit of time to himself after the hours he has put in, practically dragging this club back into the community.

Thanks Dave for the great work!

Care to elaborate? Unless you're talking about the CIC board, captain obvious.

Really?

The announcement yesterday being the fans election.

The post you quote is one highlighting that the statement says it has nothing to do with it.

Your post asks how it links with it?

As in when did the rest of the CIC decide to resign? Before or after Dave? And if it was before why did we only just find out 10 days later?

I would presume most of the CIC board will put themsleves forward to continue if elected, I think they just want to complete the elections as many members/fans have highlighted they want this to happen. Hopefully the club can them move forward together a little more.

As expected seen Dave at the game today, still gutted he has stepped down.

Anyone putting their name forward for it?

Very disappointed & surprised that Dave Mills has stepped down. His contribution will be badly missed.

It is concerning that just over a year into being a community club we have lost quite a few people who over the past 12 months who have contributed a lot of time and effort to rebuilding the club.
