Martis doesn't have a club at the moment, so it'be be a bit hard to get him in on loan.

White is getting a game for Harrogate in the BSN so I doubt that Harrogate would accept the loan offer.
That is if it's him we are in for like.

Foster has just about packed in, he runs the Spennymoor academy these days.
White has been on the fringes of the Harrogate team this season as an unused sub but is yet to play and wasnt in the squad last Sat.

It would be difficult to get him on loan from Spennymoor given that he isn't actually registered as a player there! I think he runs their academy.

Can we have Ian Miller back please?

I was looking at SoccorWay, which listed the games recently (which I presumed he'd played in as that's normally how it's laid out). Looks like he's been an un-used sub recently, as you say.

Darlington are closing in on bringing a defender back to the club who played for Quakers during their Football League days.
After conceding four goals during a defeat at Farsley last Saturday, Martin Gray is keen to plug the gap created by Gary Brown's ankle injury.
And the manager is confident of signing an experienced centre-back in time to make his debut in Darlington's next league fixture on September 7 at Clitheroe.
The player, who Gray does not want to identity until he signs, is to join on loan initially and is expected to play some part in this evening's friendly at Durham City against Consett (7.30pm ko).
Gray arranged the game as Quakers have no match this weekend due to not being involved in the FA Cup.
Gray will also use this evening's match against Northern League opposition to give run-outs to Craig Turns, Craig Gott, Kerry Hedley and Paul Robinson, who have not featured prominently in the four league matches so far.

I'm sure a few years back we used him as a striker for ten or so games because we were that short up front.Darlo_Pete wrote:OMG Matty Clarke returns to his beloved Darlo.

Its alan white just been told
Re: david mcgurk to return ????
Matt Clarke was a striker in his early years at Halifax like his brother was.
It was only the season or maybe 2 before we signed him that Halifax moved him back into defence. So much so that on Champ Man when he first moved to Darlington he was still classed as a striker by the game.
The man with possibly the worst passing ability in world professional football. That is my lasting memory of Matt Clarke.

Hopefully he'll be up to it, still there's probably a lot worse we can do. How old is he know, must be getting on a bit?Craig09 wrote:Its alan white just been told

You'd have thought he would be. Last season he made 35 appearances for Harrogate.MikeinBlack2 wrote: Hopefully he'll be up to it,

Whitey was interested in signing last season and I think still lives in Darlo.
Yep he is 37 coming up 38 early next year.

Re: david mcgurk to return ????
I think we offered him a player/coaching role last summer.
Would be nice to see him finish his career off with us, and then possibly be involved within the club in some capacity perhaps?

He wanted a coaching role but we already had Gregan, I don't think he was working and obviously we couldn't match what Harrogate offered in terms of playing.Darlofan97 wrote:I think we offered him a player/coaching role last summer.

Also I don't think Jordan Robinson is now heading to Vegas, which removes that problem.

Re: david mcgurk to return ????
I don't blame him for wanting to stay at Harrogate last summer. Looks like he's had a bit of an injury problem this pre-season which has probably contributed to the lack of games.super_les_mcjannet wrote:He wanted a coaching role but we already had Gregan, I don't think he was working and obviously we couldn't match what Harrogate offered in terms of playing.Darlofan97 wrote:I think we offered him a player/coaching role last summer.

Where did you hear/see this about Robinson? Good news, if true, as it looked very good against Kendal.

Re: david mcgurk to return ????
Sadly it looks like I got it wrong, he is going to Vegas but not now going to the boxing. Boxing match is on the 14th Sep and we currently don't have a game, so he may not miss much but I reckon we will get a re-arranged game that weekend.

Re: david mcgurk to return ????
I can't see Gray going with Scott at centre half again. When Robinson goes I think Hunter will move to centre half alongside White (if it is actually him we're close to signing) with Weldon/Scott fighting it out for left back and maybe Pilatos or Hall at right back.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Sadly it looks like I got it wrong, he is going to Vegas but not now going to the boxing. Re: david mcgurk to return ????
Hall seemed to happen by chance due to study but Pilatos feels like Gray has gone out of his way to pull in a right back and the only reason I can think is what Darlofan97 mentions and Hunter is going to tuck inside.

I saw Alan white a couple of times last season for Harrogate and he is still a useful player. Certainly didn't look out of place in the BSN.

Re: david mcgurk to return ????
Pilatos was introduced to Gray by one of our players after the game on Monday, whether that was done on request I do not know.lo36789 wrote:Hall seemed to happen by chance due to study but Pilatos feels like Gray has gone out of his way to pull in a right back and the only reason I can think is what Darlofan97 mentions and Hunter is going to tuck inside.
He has apparently got plenty of talent, just lost his way a little. I did see a comparison to Porritt r.e attitude on a Boro forum, but that was a while back.
Saying that, if there's a type of coach you want to get his career back on track then it's Gray and possibly Gregan too.

Re: david mcgurk to return ????
harsh. I thought he was OK up to a point, athletic and had some potential. He just seemed to lose concentration at times. The fact he got a good stint in the team under hodgy (and bradford) suggests he was tad better than you thinklo36789 wrote:The man with possibly the worst passing ability in world professional football.
