The reason people are pulling you up on your spelling is because it's atrocious and it people don't take you seriously.

Bad spelling is inexcusable and lazy. Have you bad spellers never thought of using a dictionary?

By the way, that "you" in that sentence wasn't directed at anyone in particular.
Although it does seem to be a bit of a bugbear for a fair few people at the moment.

At one time, Darlington sent more youngsters to further education than anyone else. T o be literate is not a luxury but it is a yardstick to ability. 8-)

But that was a typo, shurely? Shouldn't you also be getting "Brian" to coach you in keyboard skills?

Think that went over a few heads mate...

As stated before nothing wrong with a few typo's, grammar and spelling errors here and there, it is easily done when bashing out a reply on the keyboard (fnar). It's the text speak that irratates me.

Yes, I remember this and I think it's complete and utter smart-arsed bollocks. "TI" on its own at the end of a word can not be pronounced "sh".

GBS "smart-arsed bollocks" - I think not.

"TI" as in MOTION - clearly the IO is pronounced "sh".

You have misread my post. I said ""TI" on its own at the end of a word"

Like I said, I do know the logic behind it and I think it's just an unnecessary bit of smart-arsedness. Why reform spelling when it's fine as it is? Now I'm going to be a smart-arse: George Bernard Shaw, though he supported it, did not come up with this - the man who came up with it is anonymous (I remember my English teacher sharing this nugget of knowledge with me several years ago).
