1 in, 1 out by the looks of it! Seems they are the players Hopson and Harrison will replace.

And SJ gone so maybe we are seeing a trend until we are back on level financial footing againStu_1 wrote:1 in, 1 out by the looks of it! Seems they are the players Hopson and Harrison will replace.

Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
Happy with this tbh, Harra playing in the RB and Hopson in CM
Bruno was always going to go sooner rather than later and Curtis was the same, young players with careers to follow, good luck to them and reduction in wages is fine, the replacements are more than worthy

Fully expected. As soon as Harra returned I knew Bruno would be away soon.

Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
I'm not really surprised. We can't afford the luxury of having players as back up for positions. That's why we have the utility players like Jordan Robinson and Leon Scott and Jonny Davis who will play wherever needed. Harrison re-signing is a big deal. Offers a lot going forward, chips in with his fair share and is defensively sound.Twintowers wrote:Bit suprised abou t Bruno but I think Edwards had been found out at this level.Good luck to them.
But as you say good luck to them both in the future.

Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
I think its just a case of one in one out as already stated, but i seem to recall Bruno and Curtis were on contract? So did the club square them up financially?
Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
Weren't you flapping yesterday because Harrison had come in and nobody had gone out!?MikeinBlack2 wrote:Edwards and Bruno have left.....cost saving measures do we think?
We can't afford to be paying players who aren't playing. If a player is contracted he must be on the team sheet. As the weather gets worse having fewer contracts will also help us out.
Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
Probably a get out clause in the contracts, they were on 18 month dealsDarlospike wrote:I think its just a case of one in one out as already stated, but i seem to recall Bruno and Curtis were on contract? So did the club square them up financially?

Do we know where they have gone? or just been released.
Help get the club back to Darlo by helping to spread the word about the "Back to Darlo!" fund. Small but what quality (no not what the mrs said to me either lol)
I'm sure MG will be bringing some yoofs in from the lower teams, they seem to be playing well

really surprised about Bruno. Didn't think he was doing anything particularly wrong. If anyone knows where they have gone then please post

Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
It's not a case of who's done wrong really. Having two right backs is a luxury we can't afford. MG obviously thinks Harra is the better option for us. I said last night I expected Bruno to end up moving on, didn't expect it to be the next day though. MG really doesn't hang around and isn't scared of making the tough decisions.D_F_C wrote:really surprised about Bruno. Didn't think he was doing anything particularly wrong. Bit of a marmite player for me. I liked him but aspects of his game were quite poor.princes town wrote:Incredibly disappointed by Bruno leaving. Quality player.

Had a lot of potential but needed a lot of development, one of those that could go and play at a higher level further down the line if he has the Joe Tait attitude.BlackandwhiteBOB wrote:Bit of a marmite player for me. Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
Good luck to Bruno. Looked a technically good player but occasionally played football in the wrong areas. Will probably get a shout higher up where he hopefully has time to develop. Don't think he did a great deal wrong but thats the situation we are in.

Echoes my thoughts exactly.TFDM wrote:Good luck to Bruno. Looked a technically good player but occasionally played football in the wrong areas. Will probably get a shout higher up where he hopefully has time to develop. Don't think he did a great deal wrong but thats the situation we are in.
Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
Would agree with this. Too indecisive for me tbh, but had enough technical ability to offer the potential that he would improve.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Had a lot of potential but needed a lot of development, one of those that could go and play at a higher level further down the line if he has the Joe Tait attitude.
Bruno had a second trial at Blackburn, so they obviouly saw something in him they liked, and they may well have been in touch with Middlesbrough for further information about his background, but I don't think they have taken him on. With this in mind he may end up a little higher up the leagues, but I would be surprised as I think his social habits may inhibit him. I am well pleased with Harra returning as he is a far superior player to Bruno.
Curtis Edwards may turn into a very useful player, but we need him to be 'very useful' now, and I think he is found wanting at times at this level. Too soon for him, I think.
Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
So, two players have left and one has signed and it was all revealed during the day yesterday. Not one single line about it in the Hartlepool (Northern) Echo today. Still, there's a great big and very, very interesting and worthy story about how Craig Hignett is learning all the time in his role at Victoria Park. Pity it will only be read by the three (maybe an over-estimate) Hartlepool fans who actually buy the paper.
Re: Cost saving cuts in the Squad?
I understand that Curtis Edwards was playing for Thornaby against Seaham Red Star

He was at Thornaby before we signed him so no surprise he turned out for them again.D_F_C wrote:I understand that Curtis Edwards was playing for Thornaby against Seaham Red Star
