Well thanks a fucking lot - I've just lost out on about £80-worth of rail tickets for that game. And I'm not the only one either. Fucking tin-pot wankery...

Pretty sure it only costs £10 admin fee to return a ticket?

I'm not certain - depends on what type of ticket you buy of course - but to me that is besides the point. A perfectly valid fixture being changed for little overall added value. Even if I get a refund I'm down £20 and the cheaper advance tickets have gone for trains to Kendal.

Yep this is a right load of fanny batter!! My perfectly valid tickets to Prescot are now wank! You can't get from Kendal back south in time to make the connections!
Why change the fixtures around? Looks like Prescot v Mossley it is!! Considering our free weeks this fooking sucks.............

give me a shout and I will see what i can do ticket wise ;-)

EDIT You can get a single Lime Street - Euston for £12:50 on the 17:47/18:47 or 19:48 which are all Virgin services or a single Prescot - Euston for £14 with a change at Wigan and NOT via Liverpool (but with less train options)

Not good; train tickets booked. No good reason to mess around with fixtures like this - it's bad enough games off due to weather at this time of year. NOT happy!

Why would you move an existing fixture? Im assuming that Prescot Cables requested a change too?

I assume it's because Kendal weren't free on the day we have free but Prescot were and at the same time Kendal were subsequently free on the day we were due to play Prescot?

No one had a game on the 22nd March, it was kept free by the league which makes the decision even more baffling.
The thing is we weren't the only ones to have fixtures moved around. The only reason I can think of is to move Kendal to Feb in case of adverse weather, as it's a shorter trip than Prescot which is Liverpool

Thank you for saving me the trouble of posting the words "tin-pot", "what a", "shambles", "celebration", "brewery", and "league" in this context.

(Fortunately, I had not already booked my tickets for John Prescott Cable Stitch, so I'm not in this situation. But it's a nonsense, and it's a nonsense the club agreed to it.)

Do the club get to agree with it?

In the NL you arranged your own re-arrangements. In this proper league the league organise the re-arrangements, didn't realise you could counter them anymore than you can argue for changes to the fixture calendar at the start of the season?

From what I understand the club had no input into the switch and were simply informed of it by the league.

Then that just emphasises the tin-pottery of the organisation.

Not wishing to play devils advocate, and not justifying the decision because it makes no sense when both clubs had free weekends later in the season, but...don't fixtures further up the league system get changed all of the time for television broadcasts and european competitions etc. Surely these can be short notice too, especially as clubs progress into the knock out stages.

Oh? Are BT Sports and Sky falling over themselves to broadcast NPL Div 1 North now?

Fixtures aren't set in stone, but with the Prem. you always know there's a risk of "high profile" matches (especially later on in the season) being shifted, but given there's a goodly number of people who will book their travel in advance, moving the fixture at this late notice is little short of despicable and is typical of the high-handed attitude of the game's administrators to the fans.

Because of the number of games in the NW this season, away games are slightly easier for Darlington fans living away; they're not easier if matches are moved, especially for no good reason. Train tickets are often booked two months in advance. You accept the weather but not arbitrary decisions, esp given we are a 'fans' club' now. Please feel free to raise at the forum.

Understand the whole frustration but it's got nothing to do with the club. You need to ask Alan Alcock, league sec of the EvoStik League

This is indeed the case. The league made the changes for their own reasons. In fact I think the club found out about the time the change was uploaded on the Evostik website fixtures (without explanation) ..... It is very bizarre and clearly shows that they don't appreciate or understand their newest club's exceptional support base. I know quite a few guys who have booked hotels and trains or both, in advance. This is something that obviously doesn't happen at other clubs at this level but it is disappointing that the league hierarchy are either ignorant or chose to ignore this fact and did what they did in a bloody minded way .... Very, very poor

Ok given all this is there anyone at the club who can get the League to see sense? Does it really need individual fans to write to the blazers in charge?

Ah right you are the man in the know. I thought it was said last year that the club secretaries had to sort out dates for re-arrangements.

Well there we go even in the NL it is the fixture secretary who arranges them not the club. So not sure how anyone can blame the club for the Prescot fixture.
