Convery
Offered a deal according to the Gazette and Todd is looking for a right winger and striker to complete the job, most probably on loan.

Re: Convery
Got a link for this as I can't find anthing on the gazettelive site. Part of me wants him to be offered a contract as it is good to see a local lad who was wandering towards a trial with Gateshead get one last chance at the BIG TIME. Another part of me is dismayed that we are looking to recruit a player who obviously did not set the Blue Square Premier alight.
Re: Convery
Seen him play in 4 friendlies and although he gives 100% he lacks pace and skill.I suppose this is what you get on a reduced budget

It's tucked away about halfway down the top story on the Gazette site.
While I haven't seen hi in any friendlies (And won't now.. grumble grumble) Convery did okay for us in the past, and was a regular - although often from the bench - in the first season we narrowly missed out on the play-offs under Hodgy. It's not such a bad move for my money. Another right winger 'to provide competition', I would anticipate to mean 'to take a starting spot', though.

Re: Convery
yep pretty much agree with that, also id like someone who could cover both full back positions and were good to go

Except he's a central midfielder by trade.tdk1 wrote:Another right winger 'to provide competition', I would anticipate to mean 'to take a starting spot', though.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Convery
He will do a job but isnt the greatest player. We are skint, he is what we can afford. At least Craig James hsa gone!

Where did you get that idea? I am sure if you asked Mark Convery he'd tell you he can play either in central midfield or wide right. At his last few clubs he has been mainly employed on the right hand side.Spyman wrote:Except he's a central midfielder by trade.tdk1 wrote:Another right winger 'to provide competition', I would anticipate to mean 'to take a starting spot', though.
