Friendlies
Wonder who we will get this year. Will we play teams from a higher division or use the Northern league to get match fit. Would love to go to a few teams in the Northern League the ones that made us really welcome ie
Marske
Guisborough
Consett
These were the games i really enjoyed for their hospitality and friendly approach. It is a way of giving something back by the following we will bring. 3 concrete friendlies in my opinion will be Durham, Darlington RA and Whitby. Would love to have Blyth Spartans added this year to test us.Would be good to get one of the big 3 this year to get extra funding. We may have friendlies as part of any transfer deals we do. Ready for an interesting build up to the new season. Cant wait !!!!!

Re: Friendlies
Sounds like we are playing Whitby as part of the Tom Portas deal.
Aycliffe and Durham are usually a certainty and I imagine Bishop will be as well (with ground share).
Middlesbrough/Sunderland u18s possibly but that wasn't particularly worthwhile last year.
Wonder if we could get York/Carlisle this time out?

Re: Friendlies
Costs too much to police. I would rather keep our games against Hartlepool competitive. There are no bragging rights to be had from a pre-season friendly.cameron-darlo wrote:Not in a million yearsAndyPark wrote:Would love to see a pre-season game against Hartlepool/Gateshead.

If we beat them lot it would give us a huge confidence boost going into the new season.lo36789 wrote:Costs too much to police. I would rather keep our games against Hartlepool competitive. As already said though, the cost of policing would probably be too much anyway.

Re: Friendlies
They'd probably beat us so I'd rather get weaker teams as long as possible to keep getting that prize money lolfozzovmurton wrote:And the FA will set the prices if we doBogratsteve wrote:Away no doubt!!super_les_mcjannet wrote:We will get West in the FA Cup, you can guarantee it.

Re: Friendlies
Didn't they get shellacked 7-0 at Anfield, and (as a result?) caused (?) what had been a promising promotion push to evaporate like spit on a griddle?fozzovmurton wrote:I never said at what point I would want us to play them, just that I wouldMikeinBlack2 wrote:They'd probably beat us so I'd rather get weaker teams as long as possible to keep getting that prize money lolfozzovmurton wrote:And the FA will set the prices if we doBogratsteve wrote:Away no doubt!!super_les_mcjannet wrote:We will get West in the FA Cup, you can guarantee it.

Would love to see Darlo play a southern team away but don't think it'll happen anytime soon!
