Excellent signing for this level. This will probably mean the end for Amar and Wardy.

Hmm. As we've seen with Fisher dropping down a few levels doesn't mean you'll be a big success plus Hatch from what I've read hasn't matched the standard he set at Darlo in the last couple of seasons.

The forward line isn't where we need better players, hope we still have the budget to use elsewhere.

Agreed. Hope Hatch rediscovers the form that made him a favourite here, not the form of the last 4 or so months before he left.

This is the "cartwheel" signing we were promised by Mr G.R. And, more importantly gives me the chance to write HATCHBACK :D

Agree with the sentiments that this isn't guaranteed success.

Keltie failed. Hasn't hatch also struggled with injuries

I'm excited - I know where Robbie is coming from but I think it's important to judge the summer's business at the start of the season, not now. I'm now expecting to see significant movement out of the doors to compensate but let's be clear; our first eleven as it stands is stronger than it was a month ago.

WOW.

I'll admit I was very very wrong on this one!

I knew he had a partner up here but really did not think we would get him. Appreciate what Robbie says about Fisher, but Hatch was always a better player than Fisher anyway.

Liam Hatch back to face Droylsden once more...don't know if he remembers leaving the ground last time out!

Nothing is ever guaranteed, but I reckon Hatch is a different proposition to Keltie.

In the league we're in now, even if he's 70% of the player he was a couple of years ago, he will get goals goals goals.

Very good signing on paper but let's hope he's still the player we know, he should be tearing step 4 a new arsehole but we've heard that before about our signings haven't we?

One thing's for sure he's a massive fans' favourite so that's a start anyway

I'm as happy, as a very happy person, who has a special reason, to be happy.

Cover at the back as well, with Tait gone.

Looking forward to his autobiography, Three Times a Quaker, Two.

On paper a very good signing. Nigh on 30 appearances last season for Gateshead so should be in good shape.

Need to see a few leave now, couldn't see Ward getting a look in after the signing of Armstrong so certainly not now. As for Fisher, if touted around then there should be plenty of interest from Northern League clubs. Walker and Davis were both mentioned as potential departures but I'm surprised Hopson's name hasn't been mentioned. Mitchell could have trials lined up with professional clubs I'd suspect and remember that we have all but lost Tait to Spennymoor.

Still feel as if we need another full-back, centre-mid and winger. Heard we expressed an interest in Shane Henry of Whitby and their chairman was keen to reiterate that he was a contracted player to social media after the depatures of Portas, Mulligan and Armstrong. Chances are that Whitby will be reluctant to sell after having their key players snapped up by clubs lower down in the pyramid.

Very good signing for this level. and as stated above, probably the end for Purewal/Ward, or both. Hope he's sorted his discipline out though, He seemed to get booked every match in his last season!

Excited by this signing. but then again i was when we signed Fisher so probably best not to get too carried away.

I am very pleased to see Hatch back in a Darlo top however im not 100% sure its the right move for us at this time.

Similar situation to when we got Fisher and that hasn't turned out well. I presume the Hitman will be on decent money

We now have 6 strikers on our books, Hatch,Armstrong, Dowson, Purewal, Fisher, Ward, so surely 2 will get offloaded ?? ward and fisher?

And is up front really the area we need to improve that much? we still scored a bucket load last season.

I no we have made one signing in midfield, but this was the area that was weak all last season and would prefer to see someone else brought in here.

Saying all that Hatch has become one of those players like Whitey who has links with the club and if he can perform anywhere near the top of his game he will be useful

I don't expect Ward to be around next year now. Fisher or Dowson will be the other moved out I imagine.

Just as long as he's not been signed to play in mid field lol

Maybe Fisher and purewal will be dropped back , I can see amar playing out wide if he's still here next season although not my favourite position for him, and maybe MG plans to mold Fisher into an attacking midfielder ?

Then a strike pairing of Armstrong, Dowson, hatch or ward is a hell of a selection headache !

:wtf:

Or The Hitman and The Fish up front?

I would be more happy seeing Purewal/Fisher drop into midfield then us pushing defenders up into midfield. I cant take another game of Gary Brown at CM

Great signing . Although at 32 and 31 will be like dads army up front

Harsh on ward who i don't think we've seen best of and he will proberly be the one to go but is being disguarded way to easy..

Fisher the same. These are proven players and giving the full
Chance I'm sure they would shine..

I'm surprised at some of the reservations around the signing. Yes he's a few years older than last time we had him but IMO he's the type of player that will take to this level like a duck to water. Will probably mean the end for Ward but that's football, you've got to take every opportunity to strengthen the side, plus as someone else pointed out we all know he can provide cover at CB if needed.

Welcome back Liam - can't wait to see him in a Darlo shirt again - it's signings like this that help make me feel like this is the proper Darlo.
