I thought gate receipts from yesterday were going B2D? Am I right to assume there is a bit more money in the fund to move back and that is just the donations box?

Can you explain what money we have in the back to darlo fund for the new ground?

My understanding also, even with a large expense bill we should have cleared £10-15k i would imagine

I don't think it was ever stated that the funds from the Sunderland game were going into the B2D fund.

It was, however, stated that the funds would "support our return home at Blackwell Meadows".

If B2D isn't the sole fund from where the return will come from then updates on it are a little big meaningless!

Of course it's not the sole fund.

And that was pretty clear at the beginning of the investment funds!

It was a fundraising game organised by DFC and Sunderland waived all expenses. When B2D was launched by the CIC £20k was the figure quoted to get to consultation and give a springboard if I remember correctly. DFC launched the share issue via squareknot and part of that included monthly payments to aid return to town so now that the share allocation has been finalised I am hoping we will have update on the state of that fund in the near future or at the AGM.

Sorry you find it meaningless. The fundraiser was never going into B2D not sure where that information came from it will however no doubt support the overall funding. As was stated at the last forum costs are still being worked on.

I am personally finding it a bit confusing. I know it wasn't B2D yesterday. But it was clearly marketed as a fundraiser for getting home. I don't think anyone cares as long as all the profits from yesterday to towards blackwell.

What I should probably say, and tried to add before my phone died. Hopefully when the costings come out we do have a clear picture, I suppose at the moment we know we have £18,440 + £x towards a target of £y. So we need £z.

I think the general idea was it was a fund raiser in as much a first team were arriving and expenses were being waived, not necessarily a B2D fund raiser, although it will impact that fund in other ways.

It was written on the official site as
Official Site wrote:special ‘Return to Darlington’ fundraising game.
and
Official Site wrote:Sunderland AFC is lending its support to the football club and the game will help to raise vital funds to support our return home at Blackwell Meadows.

So with that in mind no reason to not think the profits from the game would go to anything other than...well getting us back to Darlo really.

I may have misunderstood the back to darlo elements of Saturday's game, I was thinking that the money would maybe even go to paying off the consultancy fees (it would be about the right amount). The wording support the return to darlo could mean anything that keeps the club going/paying off our debts really.

Until we have the costings it's saving towards an unknown variable anyway. I think things will pick up after that, similar to the "we need £50k" fundraising last year.

I think the difference is that the CIC are part of the work for BM and have been involved all along, they are aiming to raise the inital 20k which we have nearly hit. The CIC seemed to do most of the work in the early days in regards to the initial agreement.

The Club board are also involved and are probably more involved now than the early days as it is now getting down to the full nitty gritty of the detail.

I am presuming here but it seems the club are raising money alongside the CIC campaign but are not updating this for us to view, maybe as you say the wording around "supporting the move" means this is fairly fluid in regards to use.

Watching how Martin Jesper seems to work he likes to have full plans before releasing information, especially when this includes financial elements. I can only see costs come out once we have plans in and made the choice on our preferred suppliers/contractors.

Does anyone know or understand the relationship with the rugby club? Are we perpetual tenants and paying rent or is there another arrangement in place?
