Raj Singh says he has overcome the biggest "hurdle" in his takeover of Darlington, as the club edge nearer towards coming out of administration.

Darlington's chairman-elect and the club's former chairman, George Houhgton, have now put pen-to-paper on a deal, agreed in principle a number of weeks ago, which is expected to be finalised over the coming weeks.

Mr Singh is also hoping the Quakers can exit administration before the start of the new League Two season on August 8.

"This is the biggest hurdle as far as the takeover is concerned," Mr Singh said today. "A lot of things are starting to come together, which is very encouraging for us and our fans.

"Mr Houghton and I have now signed a deal for the takeover of the club, which includes separate deals on the stadium and the land, but it means I can already start to put a lot of things in place.... story continues, click link above.

That's because some Darlo fans only like to moan about the bad things. Whenever praise is in order they seem to hide away as they can't think of anything bad to say

Well sais Sam.

Board is full of doommongers, moaners and cynics.

Totally agree DC - I've spent most of the day trying to explain what administration means.

When money goes to the administrators it's amazing how many people think they just pocket it!

They don't seem to understand that we are not allowed to pay our own bills and without administrators there would be no beer, pies etc.

But what I would like to see is Clarke & Co saying "actually we outstayed our welcome so here's a fortnight's fees back - thanks for the business"
