1500?
Wondering what attendance we can expect at Blackwell Meadows (do we start calling it BM?) next season. Personally can't see a huge increase in the faithfuls - but hope I am wrong. Casuals should be up, but things like league position and weather will influence them. How many will MG and the board want/need?
My starter guess is 1500.

I think an average of 1500 will be on the low side, but even if it was that figure, it would still represent around a 50% rise on what we have got in the last 2 seasons.

Re: 1500?
About 100,000 extra in gate receipts etc. That will go a long way to pay off the debts and strengthen the squad. Add in some cup runs as well as club merchandising and Darlo could be a promotion contender.
Big early attendances at friendlies and League games is essential to get the ball rolling.
We can expect a lot of kids wanting to see the town team, so special attention is needed to entertain them.

Re: 1500?
I think we need to milk this promotion for all it's worth, partly because Martin and the players deserve every bit of credit available for it, and also to get the town back on our side. We're not a sob story anymore, we've transformed ourselves from a miserable relegated 4 tiers and banished out of the town club to marching back into the town on the back of a second promotion in 3 years as the best supported club at our level (with FCUM being promoted). The disillusion with Newcastle and Sunderland is something we can capitalize on. I don't think those 2 have ever been as atrocious as they are right now. But yeah, lets milk the promotion and celebrate it from now until kick off next season. There was a time 2000 was considered a bad attendance when match day tickets were £18. We can do a lot better than 1500 I think.

Re: 1500?
To me it is very noticeable that we have a very healthy fan base and loads of youngsters who watch us week in and week out. Loads of clubs at our level have a very old fanbase and I'm sure they look very enviously at our support.
Re: 1500?
We will average over 2,000, I know it.
The ONLY thing that will prevent this is a small ground capacity. Say it ends up at 2,100 or something like that, we wouldn't be able to get enough big gates to compensate for the midweek, mid winter, low attendance games.
Even clubs like Telford and Halifax - smaller clubs than Darlo - we're averaging c 1,700-1,800 at this level.
As long as the capacity comes in at 2,500+, ideally near 3,000, then I'd put my entire savings (nowt) on us being over 2,000 average.

Re: 1500?
Salford may not be able to take up a promotion place, given the state of their ground at the moment. Hopefully they won't have enough money to strengthen their squad and re-build their stadium at the same time.
Re: 1500?
I'm sure that if 75k can get BM from Grade C to Grade B, then a similar amount will do the same for Salford.
Seeing as though they are owned by a bunch of multi-millionaires, I'm sure they could scrape 75k together between them.
