Re: Summer Trivia
I got asked this the other day. I couldn't come up with an answer.
I know who it is now, but I won't spoil it for others.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Unfortunately my knowledge of top flight football stopped in 1989, so I'm at a disadvantage here.
Never argue with an idiot: The best possible outcome is that you win an argument with an idiot.

Re: Summer Trivia
Trying to work out whether the rivalry clue gives much away.
Since both Y and Z won the league then it goes without saying it could be simply a 'competitive' rivalry eg. Arsenal and Man United.

The answer is on the pooliebunker. They did this last week
Waiting for Raj to shaft them!
Re: Summer Trivia
Assuming 'the league' is referring to the Premiership, then only 4 teams have won it since 2000. Of those 4, arguably only Man City could be considered to have just one proper rival.lo36789 wrote:Trying to work out whether the rivalry clue gives much away.

Re: Summer Trivia
Since the advent of the UEFA Champions League era in 1992, name the only non-Spanish player who has held a league title, Champions League, European Championship and World Cup simultaneously.
Re: Summer Trivia
The name I have in mind seems to obvious.

Re: Summer Trivia
I think I have the answer.
Zidane was my first answer too but I think Valencia won La Liga in 2002, the year Real won the Champions League.

Re: Summer Trivia
Gramps does indeed have the answer and is correct about 2002.

Re: Summer Trivia
I thought I had it, but then a colleague threw another name into the hat and seems to have it spot on.

I can think of 3 at Real Madrid, McManaman, Beckham, Owen
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883
